Adams County Fairgrounds — Local services in Hastings

This is my goto campground in Hastings. The office staff is the best and are well informed about the local facilities, restaurants, and entertainment. They made my 5 day stay better. The grounds are very clean and in great repair. The fairboard has put a camp host in place due to horrible problems last year. When the office closes this gentleman feels he is in charge. He would arbitrarily lock the shower room because he saw "unsavory" people on the grounds. The host also felt I wasn't paying enough to use the shower and I needed to use my RV. To not do so was my "choice." I also feel he came to my camp spot too many times to talk with me about these things. I did demand that he stay away from my camp and leave the shower open until I left. Each time he arrived he was antoginastic an accusatory. I will still continue to use this...

Older area that needs to be redone by the city, they offer an outdoor camping area for your own campers they provide the electric and shared showers. There are few buildings out there that they use for meetings or you can rent them for things such as weddings. They do allow alcohol if you go by whatever rules they set up for that. The parking is gravel on most of the areas. The livestock buildings are not in the best of shape and the restrooms for sure need some work. The bleacher area looking out into the concert area or whatever you're going to see in the big event area is very old and could use updated. They do have a small clubhouse that's nice but just very small pretty reasonably priced though and have alcohol and service right there...

There are several livestock barns, they are older and could use some updating. There is public restrooms with shower facilities for those that choose to rent a camping area, again they could use updating. They also provide electricity for asmall fee for the camping areas. They also have an outdoor Concert area but the seating could use updated. They do offer a couple different buildings that you can rent to have private events in. If you rent the building and if you go by certain rules and regulations, you can have alcohol at your event.
