It’s been almost a year and the couches my husband and I bought from Danco Furniture & Design in Hatfield, MA are even more comfortable now than when we bought them. We decided to go to Danco due to the fact that I am very sensitive to chemicals and needed couches that I could tolerate. I have had the experience of going into a “big box” furniture store and feeling faint from all the outgassing of chemicals that inundate the store. This is not the case with Danco Furniture & Design. The furniture that they carry is made of high-quality materials that don’t have the same outgassing problem. We started in one corner of the store and sat in every couch that they carried, which were quite a few. The store, from the outside, doesn’t look large but it has a very large selection of styles and items. Initially we were greeted warmly by Heather, an amazing sales associate, we gave her an idea of what we were looking for but then we were free to look around the store with no big sales pitch. If we had questions Heather could answer them but otherwise, we were left in peace to find the style of couch that would work for us. After several hours of sitting, debating pros and cons of different styles and discussing what we wanted, we went back to the very first couch we sat in as our choice and the couch that Heather had initially recommended. The next decision was fabric. We spent time looking at all the swatches and found the ideal pattern and color. This fabric, however, needed to have a backing and I was concerned about this due to my sensitivity. Heather went out of her way to contact the manufacturer and have a sample shipped to the store; so, I could do my own sniff test. At every juncture, if I had questions or concerns about something, Heather went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable with absolutely everything. Once the couches arrived, we were able to drive to the warehouse to check them out in person and they were stunning. More beautiful than I had imagined. Over the past year, they have held up and gotten more comfortable. I’m grateful to Danco Furniture & Design and to Heather for giving me the opportunity to be able to buy a new couch. Due to my sensitivities, we had been hanging on to two very old and worn-out couches and I never thought I’d be able to tolerate new furniture. My spouse and I love this store… We visited others this fall 2020 and found the u-shaped couches and chair we wanted at Danco. We have shopped here for almost 40 years.

Kensington, one of the designers there, worked patiently and beautifully with us. He is a gem at listening and designing. We met with him in the store and at our new home and then again when he had plans drawn up. He was willing to incorporate my vision into his designs while also locating lovely rug and pillow candidates.

The furniture arrived today and it’s all so gorgeous. I love the sleek design: traditional and modern at the same time. It’s wonderful that it was crafted in the United States. And oh my goodness is it all comfy. I feel very supported, firm and yet still yummy. Meanwhile, photos don’t do the hues justice: I feel like I am sitting in the ocean itself! (We had a lot of fabric textures and colors to choose from.)

Moreover, Miguel and his assistant who delivered the furniture went beyond their roles in helping us position the couches. Miguel is another gem.

I recommend Danco Modern and its staff enthusiastically and wholeheartedly. During such a difficult pandemic, this new furniture in our new old house is so uplifting.

Over the years I purchased 2 Ekornes recliners from Danco Modern. I was extremely satisfied with both. Recently, however, the recliner purchased 2 years ago developed a very annoying squeak. I contacted Danco and was referred to Miguel Candaleria. He worked with me conscientiously via phone (I'm in North Carolina, he's in Massachusetts) to resolve the problem. Over several days he suggested methods to diagnose and eliminate the squeak, and eventually he determined, after viewing a video I sent him of me sitting in the chair and making it squeak, a replacement part was required. Miguel then took the lead in contacting the manufacturer to replace the part under warrantee. Successful, he subsequently mailed me the part and the problem was resolved. During this entire process (which took several weeks), Miguel was courteous, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. He called me regularly to update me on the process, and followed up afterwards to insure the problem was satisfactorily resolved. Without a doubt, he is an exceptional employee of whom Danco Modern should be greatly proud. I certainly appreciated his efficiency, friendliness, and reliability.
