Frisco Beach — Local services in Hatteras Island

Frisco Beach is amazing! We went a bit further south from where the shower parking lot is. There is another small parking lot on the sound side, and you can just cross and go right over a small dune. I loved this beach because it is right after the turn in the islands, and you are actually facing south, so the surf is not as rough and you don't have to deal with a bunch of sandblaster waves trying to get in the water. My husband and I went this past Sunday, August 6th. Just happened to be a gorgeous day, and it was fairly crowded but not so bad that people were sitting within ear shot. Definitely North Carolina blue ocean hues. Water was chilly when you first got in, but very nice after about 10 mins. Easy beach access. Nice bathhouse, restrooms, with showers/feet rinsing outside. One of the best beaches I've visited in NC. Shallow surf with waves perfect for boogie boarding and a sandy shoreline. The beach can be accessed via a ramp, it has bathrooms and showers, and lifeguards on duty from Memorial Day - Labor Day.
