Captain Steve and Captain Suelang on Jan 7th, 2025. This must have been my 12,256th whale watch which qualifies me to say that they were awesome. What makes a whale watch awesome? Thought you'd never ask...
1st and most important... safety. Both for the guests AND the Whales. We all felt safe and taken care of the entire time. Also, Capt. Steve kept his distance past the legal approach distance.
2...We saw whales. Kind of important on a Whale Watch but on a less than ideal sea condition day, they managed to find us 4-6 whales. This doesn't always happen on whale watches, trust me. So the fact that they delivered is a bonus.
3....They care.. Obviously they care about the whales, I mean who doesn't? That's the easy part....but they ALL genuinely care about humanity and HOW we are all connected. Cant teach that...
You have a LOT of choices for whale watching while on the Big Island so do yourself a favor. Skip a night a night at a fancy restaurant and go spend your hard earned $ on an experience with these genuinely great people. You...
Read moreOur friends who we vacationed with and arrived a few days before us loved this tour and rated it a 5 star service. Because they had such a great experience we booked the the early morning 7:30 am sunrise tour for the last day of our vacation. We left our condo in Kona around 5:45am with plenty of time to make it. Unfortunately sadly there was a tragic vehicle crash that shut down the highway. Having to backtrack and now in all the detour traffic there was no way we could make the tour and called them as to not hold up the group. We weren't expecting a refund for canceling but we got a call later they said they would give us a full refund given the circumstances. For that I'm giving them 5 stars as this speaks volumes to me what type of people these are. Plus our friends said it was a 5 star experience for them and they wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Oh well, next time we come to the Big Island we know who to book for...
Read moreAmazing experience!! Took the 7:30AM tour - saw a gorgeous sunrise over the mountains before going out, then we were basically the only boat on the water. Captain Kelsey and her crew were fantastic - very knowledgable and found us a TON of whales to see. Not just seeing them in the distance, but got pretty close and saw a ton of breeching and other fun activity. Also saw two tiger sharks and some flying fish next to the boat. We even ran about 15-20 minutes over since we saw a breaching calf on the way in. The boat was fantastic - lots of places to sit/stand. They offered fruit, banana bread and a variety of drinks and snacks. Being on a smaller boat allowed for better maneuverability to find the whales as well as fewer people to share the boat with (there were 6 of us - we all had no problem seeing, and frequently rotated spots so everyone could see from different angles). Can't recommend...
