There are very few places on the island to pick up or receive from Western Union and Malama market is the closest to me being about a half hour drive. I went there specifically to pick up $200 that was sent to me only to be told that they did not have enough money in their Western Union drawer and they would not be able to issue it to me until they did. Said they couldn't pull from the store and the woman shrugged her shoulders and gave no suggestion as to what they could do. When asked how I was supposed to know when they would have enough or how long it would even be until they did the response was that "normal routine is for people to call." I've never had to call anywhere prior to picking up or sending western union. When asked what would happen should they have enough and before and because of the long drive someone else makes it there before me that just walks in without calling then would they issue their money to them because they are there first and the answer was yes.
