The Volcano Van Private Tours — Local services in Hawaii

If you are on Hawai'i and came for the volcanoes, then you must take this tour with Scott. This man knows his "hot" stuff 😅. Unfortunately there were no active lava flows while we were there so I was wondering how interesting a volcano tour would be, I shouldn't have been. Scott toured us around the island, stopping at great places for snacks and lunch, gave us the history of the volcanoes and how and why they do what they do. He took us down small roads that we never would have found to see the aftermath of lava flows and the shorelines mane by them and to where the last flow in 2018 went though where to this day, 17 months later, the ground is still hot enough to ignite a piece of paper towel or cause water to steam when poured on it! My wife and I only had one day to see the big island of Hawaii. We decided to go with Scott and his “Volcano Van.” Could not be happier and would HIGHLY recommend using him and his combo tour. He is so knowledgeable, fun, and really makes the tour more of a family affair as he takes you to volcanoes, waterfalls, and the ocean front. My wife and I don’t typically book tours but I would say that if you are staying on the big island or one of the other islands and want to see a good chunk of the island in one day, his full day tour is worth every penny. We highly recommend taking a tour with The Volcano Van Tours! My family (with 2 teenagers) did the “Choose your Big Island Experience” tour. Our tour guide was Scott and he worked with me via e-mail to come up with the perfect all day tour to accommodate all our goals! We learned so much about the island, explored unique areas, tried many delicious local foods, went to the Botanical Gardens, saw the newest black sand beach and so much more!
