At first, I thought it was 31 minutes away from home, according to Google Maps, but it was actually 44 minutes away from Whitney to here. With that being said, the wash trail is beautiful. It's a straight line with a little bit of hilly terrain. The view is stunning, especially by the looks of it. I came here with my bike, as I said before, it was 31 minutes. I enjoy my exploration of this trail and it's history, though I did not pay attention to the details. The trees and grass are lush and perfectly clean. What's cool about this trail, there is a train track above the walk trail (unless you're lucky enough to see a train passing by during your walk). It's perfect for walking and biking. While there, I noticed there were several plaques dedicating to the people that passed away. They died a long time ago. I was surprised to discover one person, named Jacqueline Kiesecker, was born on 2/28/28 and died on 6/9/99; almost if she died on 9/9/99. That'll be crazy! For the record, this is technically a trail for angels. There is also a swimming pool complex when you enter the grass area of the trail. I came here during a brutal heat wave day. My best recommendation is to come here during a cloudy day or when the day is overcast. Worth a visit and I'll be coming back here...
Read moreThis is a nice paved trail that winds through the residences and a wash. The motion sensor lights get brighten up as you walk/run/bike past them. There's multiple concrete benches whenever you want to take a break from your trail activity. The trees are trimmed as to not get in the way of those who use the trail.
There are auxiliary trails that go down into the wash area if you feel like exploring for a little bit. The local residences are usually out in full force when the weather is nice. Sometimes the trails can feel a little too narrow for the traffic on crowded days but not to the point where you have to stop or slow down. Just be aware of trail ahead and all is well.
I've been running and biking on this trail for years now and it's a nice way to knock out some easy miles during a long training run. No matter how you travel on the Pittman Wash Trail, you're in for a pretty good...
Read moreNice trail! We visited on a Sunday afternoon and there were only a handful of people that passed us. We parked at silver springs park which seems to be close to the center of this trail. We walked from mile marker 1.5 to the start of the trail head at arroyo grande sporks complex. The trail we walked was paved the entire way but parts were a bit uneven and may need a little bit of...
