One of the best decisions of my adult life, for sure. This was a life changing decision for meā¦.and this is not an overstatement.
When I came to TCTC almost 2 years ago, my body was on the verge of breakdown. After so many years of training hard, everything hurt. I had lost mobility, was stiff, had several issues (knees, lower back, shoulders), I was overweight and felt hopeless about the future in terms of my physical capabilities. What Iāve learned? Training hard DOES NOT mean you need to wreck your body. We train hard at TCTC using a multidimensional approach.
Iām happy to say that today I move better, feel better, and look better. Life feels easier when you can move well. I have had periods of success in the last two years and also periods where success was limited. TCTC has all of the tools and knowledge available to its members, the only variable is the memberās level of commitment which will determine your level of success.
Iām 46, looking to be in the best shape of my life and am well on my way! My motivation for this review today is directly linked to how great I felt this morning! Yesterday was another great training day (so challenging/fun) and I wanted to share my thoughts here.
These trainers/coaches are not what you find in a lot of gyms. These are people who have dedicated their lives to their craft by way of consistently pursuing knowledge supported by top experts in the field, such as Gray Institute. Every coach is unique in their approachā¦..you could say there is a āflavorā for everyone depending on your preference in coaching style. Shout out to all of you!
TAKE AWAYS: knowledgable/educated coaches, top notch equipment, fun environment, pricing is on point for this level of investment (you get what you pay for-your return on a $20 membership/investment will always be zero to minimal), gym community is great if thatās your thing, but if itās not, itās respected. Iāll say it again:...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is based solely on my super negative interactions with the workers there.
If you are planning to use insurance to pay for your membership, note that you are empathetically not welcomed here. Not only that, you will be judged and condescended upon for your poorness because their "caliber of instructions" surpasses the reimbursement from the insurance company. But you will receive the brunt of their indignity because why? I don't know. A simple "oh, we actually don't accept it here" would have sufficed but instead I was asked: "Is that all you care about, whether insurance is paying for your gym?" And that I should check out Planet Fitness.
I wanted to try this gym because of all the positive reviews and inclusiveness messages from the company website but now I know that is all fake niceness and reserved for their targeted group. To be frank, I have gone to other gyms with similar "caliber" as this one under insurance and they always welcomed me with open arms. Not whatever this was.
As if that wasn't enough, I got a text on the day of the canceled intro session to see me soon, which I thought was from the trainer assigned to me. So I replied to inform them how I already canceled it with a nice lady yesterday and she should have informed them.
As luck would have it, I received a snarky parting reply from presumably the same nice person yesterday telling me it's an automated message and godspeed on my fitness journey that is "within my schedule and budget".
Some suggestions to the owner. Please remove your name from the insurance list if you don't want to do business with them? Tell your workers to pay more attention to the automated messaging system and copy it because it's more professional and nicer than your workers? Or give a big raise to the certain nice lady trainer I talked to for doing an amazing job weeding out presumably poor people...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy journey with TCTC began two and a half years ago. A friend introduced me to one of the trainers , Rebecca. She really listened to me, I mean REALLY listened, to my failures, my fears and my frustration. Iād really tried it all, and I mean all, so what could be different? I have had, Thyroid problems, shoulder surgery, breast cancer, so I get the setbacks. I did the diets, the personal trainers, you name, it Iād been through it. She started me on a path , a slow , steady and intentional path, that has led me to a 70 pound weight loss and a fitness level I thought Iād lost forever . I am 61 years old and I used to be an athlete many years ago and I never thought Iād get my life back, yes, my LIFE, I was miserable and I had put all the work in but never got results. I had really tried hard. This is the difference they make, they donāt check in and out at class. They are continually self educating, they help with nutrition and more, they understand the ups and downs but will make you accountable and their structured classes are forever changing and challenging. This WHOLE team is like no other , this gym is like no other, they are the difference that makes a difference . Make your reasons better than your excuses, if I can do it , anyone can, but you need this team to get you there. I am not one to really post but I wanted to reach out because I want someone else to know that that you can be happy and healthy again and this is the place to go. Iām not saying itās easy , but I am saying , with this team at TCTC, itās possible, Iām...
