Dollar General — Local services in Henniker

So for starters I already had a job but wanted something closer to where I live so I applied for a part time cashier had the interview went great was offered a part time manager position along with my starting date walked out feeling completely happy and thrilled I got the email did all was asked I've called about a total of 7 times total within many weeks (and was well spaced out to let them know I still want the job) the date that I was giving to have my first date comes and passes and still trying on my end since still can't seem to get a word, call, email nothing back, finally get told that there was an issue of my back round check coming back which said it was incomplete which has never happened before nor have I ever had any issues with getting any kind of work and or back round check. I was told by the manager that she would reach out to her manager and get back to me as it was weird even for her so she was going to call her and call me right back and that happened two different times in weeks apart. So this last time I give it a few days to try again made yet another call (this was my last call) I asked if Maye is there was told yes she put me on hold to come back not even a full min later to tell me that she isn't taken any calls which is unheard of for a GM to not be taking any calls at a business? bottom line is I was literally given the job at the interview along with a start date and everything to be postponed many times push back playing games with phone along with having me leave my other job I already had just to have a business play games with me and literally cost me my other job and now I'm out of a job completely and screwed I have gone in there with my kid a few times since and sometimes by myself and when I went in without my daughter her attitude towards me was a bit rude and rushed definitely will not be shopping there again

don't apply at this DG they will waste your time and screw you!! they also did that with another person I know as well so just don't waste your time as it's not the first time something like this has happened to someone!!

As for the store it self it is always cluttered and just gross each time I went in big carts stacked with unpacked boxes blocking not only isles but products making it hard to walk thru never seem to have more the one employees if there are more hard to find one to help. Than there are the prices I spent over 45 on 5 food items!! I literally put back a plain stick of secret deodorant cause shelf price said 11 dollars and change which is absolutely ridiculous.

I have been giving this store my business for roughly 1 year frequently. There is an ongoing trend of advertised prices not being honored and always more than what is advertised. Today I was told the reason is understaffed. The manager was short but offered to give me a five dollar credit the next time I came in after telling me she would not give my change back that I was due. I will give the store another shot but will go elsewhere with my shopping if it happens again. Kinda feels like a bait and switch scenario due to it happening every time I shop. The store was disorganized, the store was dirty, there was so much stuff on the floor that I often was worried about trip hazards, and the staff were not helpful.
