Will never return to this course. Have a group of 6 so scheduled 2 tee times. 11:36 & 11:45. 18 holes. Arrived early to make sure we were on time. Weren’t able to tee off at our scheduled time because they were backed up. 1st group of 4 went first then the 2nd group of 2 went. The whole front 9, we were waiting on the people in front of us, and the people behind us were hitting on the same hole as us, driving their golf carts up right behind us. Felt rushed the entire time. When we got to hole 9, all 6 of us were waiting on each other to finish so we could start the back 9 (and also because me and my golfing partner had never been here before so we didn’t know where hole 10 was). A Ranger drove up to us and was awfully rude and told us we didn’t need to wait on each other, groups of 6 weren’t allowed, and we needed to move along to the 10th hole because we were keeping people backed up. We explained the situation, that we booked 2 times and that we had been waiting on the people in front of us the entire time, but he didn’t care and told us to move along because we were making people wait…he took off and we shortly followed behind him. He then stopped us as we were driving past and wanted to look through our golf cart because he said the gentlemen who had the golf cart before us left his keys in it this morning. We told him there weren’t any keys and he asked us to move our things to look in the areas in the front. Then he told us ok and we could go along our way. We get to the 10th hole and of course, couldn’t tee off because we had to wait on the group ahead of us. We were literally waiting on them shot for shot. It made us feel targeted, I don’t understand why out of all the people golfing he had to tell US we were the problem. I find it hard to believe he was actually looking for keys, it felt like he was just being nosy and wanted to give us a hard time and was hoping to find something wrong. It was a slinky effect all 18 holes, and him wanting to look through our golf cart for keys was unacceptable. The course itself is quite a lovely course, but after our experience today, with the Ranger and the bad tee times, we all agreed we will not...
Read moreReally sick of Oak Hollow Golf course management. I’ve played here several times now and every experience gets worse and worse. The first time I played here I was shocked to find out that I had to pay $16 for my wife to ride in the cart with me as a single with barely anyone at the course. Today I was expecting the fee and was ready to pay it after booking several hours in advance on GolfNow. What I didn’t expect is that they did not have any golf carts ready between 15 minutes before my tee time all the way up until 15 minutes after my tee time. They also apparently expect you as a single to get placed with a group, but also ride in the cart with a stranger. In thousands of rounds of golf I’ve never had to do this. I get getting paired with people but not being forced to ride with them. The lack of carts at my tee time, being forced to ride with people, and cart fees for riders is all evidence that they overbook the heck out of the tee times and have people back to back to back all day. Upon getting on the course you’ll experience this as this is also a course that I regularly get hit onto and take 5 + hours for 18. At the end of the day this is a nice little course, usually in good shape, and I enjoy the actual golf here, but I am sick of the ridiculous fees and overbooking and silly cart rules. Charge more, book less, do something to...
Read moreBeware the rude staff. Recommend going to other courses in the area for the same course quality/price but with much friendlier staff.
I booked a tee time for 1 person on a late Friday afternoon. Upon check in was told to get a cart and I would be paired with a 3-some. No problem there. Was barely able to hit 3 practice putts before being called to the tee box 10-15 minutes before my scheduled tee time. I was then instructed to load my golf bag onto someone else's cart to ride with them. I told the staff I'd prefer not to do that. They aggressively responded with "then you shouldn't have come out here today". There were ~30 other carts available but for some unknown reason it was imperative I ride with a stranger. I have no problem playing with a group but found it extremely weird and aggressive they demanded me to ride with a random person when several other carts are available and I was already in a loaded and ready to go cart. I requested a refund and left the course.
I've played this course before, it's an average course but inexpensive (good deal for the money) if you get a GolfNow hot deal. Unfortunately, the staff make it not worth...
