I read some recent reviews and wanted to see things for myself. What I found on a Sunday afternoon was a unique and totally delightful experience. Everyone and I mean ALL the folks we encountered that worked there were exceedingly smiley and friendly and helpful. The place looks & smells great and I caught a whiff of some Amaretto coffee samples and it was outstanding. I found a Jasmine plant there in the garden area that was blooming (because that's what they do in late winter) and I walked around with it in my cart the entire time I was shopping. To me that was a fun and unique find. We also purchased some country ribs that looked especially meaty and they cooked up deliciously tender. For $15 we got dinner for 2 with leftovers so I felt their prices and quality were fine with me. Good thing I had already read about the big parrot birds or I might have thought that the bird noises in the plant area were just the little birds flying around and not in the cages towards the side back area. What gorgeous big birds. Apparently if you hang around a bit, they say Hello and Good Bye. What we wanted to find there was something that wasn't run of the mill Kroger grocery store things and this place didn't disappoint. It inspired us because cooking can sometimes get dreary without some inspiration. We loved the pre-cooked coconut breaded chicken that we ate with the Ken's Famous Coleslaw that evening for a snack. I love all types of coleslaw but that was perfection. I was looking for some flavored olive oils but that section is pretty small but it's close to the beer and wine section so we just moved over there and found the selections there very robust and creative. Will we be back? Of course we will.

I visited the store for the first time with my boyfriend this past Saturday to grab a few items for Easter and I was looking for a market that sold Calder dairy products. The store looked nice but I was really disappointed. When I opened the butter it was completely moldy. The other items were fine but when I was taking pics I noticed the date on the butter was from January. It was partly my fault for not double checking but January? We’re now in April! I was disgusted and mad to be out $14 US. I’m from Windsor so it’s not like I can go back and return it. To other consumers - please check dates before buying and To the store staff - Please check the other Calder butters and remove the expired ones from the shelves. I know my experience wasn’t great but I would say overall the store was nice, the staff was friendly, we tried a bit of everything bread, dairy, meat, beverages, desserts, and even bought a nice Easter flower arrangement for my bf’s mom. I’ll add a picture of that as well to at least end on a positive note.

This is the best small grocery store. I love that they have a variety of foods that I can't get at the regular store like napa cabbage. I wouldn't expect to go here and get a whole bunch of name brand items; they might have a couple but that's not the focus. They make delicious soups, bread, dip, and more in house. Near the checkout there's an area with just Michigan made foods; I bake the pecan apple butter from there into bread. The Butcher Shop is always willing to do special cuts or special orders if you talk to them in advance. The grocery store and butcher shop aside, the greenhouse is gorgeous and has a variety of plants; if you go to the back of the greenhouse there are birds which will talk and dance with you if you get to know them well enough. Say hello to Prince and tell him he's a pretty bird! (Pictured is Liv the military macaw)

Colasanti's Market is a rare gem! The employees at this market truly make the experience a positive start, middle or end to your day! They all deserve a million dollars! I've recently had a serious health issue and was looking for a certain type of produce that is not easy to come by but touted to be beneficial for my condition. Tina, the produce manager went above and beyond to try to get my number to order that produce and give me lots of tips on how to eat fresher on a budget. She gave me incredibly useful information on the discount and sale items they have and the sustainable practices that this store takes to not have unnecessary waste. Beyond having a great selection, I love that the store is mindful of its role in the community as they accept SNAP to make their products accessible to everyone. You will be incredibly impressed with the bakery.I bought a slice of lemon mascarpone cake for my friend's birthday because I could not find what they really wanted. The cake was made on site with incredibly fresh ingredients. Colasanti's also adopts parrots and allows shoppers to visit their feathered residents in their garden center (Resident parrot Prince enjoys listening to Ozzy Osbourne) so it is a great place for shoppers with children. The caretaker of the parrots has lots of information, so it will exceed what you expect your shopping trip to be! From the produce to bakery to deli to the wine section this store has everything for everyday grocery needs or special occasions. Don't walk, run here, this is an...

Colasanti’s Market – A True Oakland County Treasure

I’ve been coming to Colasanti’s Market since I was a kid, and let me tell you—it never gets old. Around Christmas time, the whole place transforms into what feels like a scene straight out of a Hallmark movie. The twinkling lights, cozy atmosphere, and hometown spirit make it a must-visit every holiday season.

But no matter the time of year, this market is top five in all of Oakland County—easily. The produce selection is unmatched, offering the freshest fruits and vegetables, including exotic finds from islands you probably didn’t even know existed. Their butcher shop is high quality, the bakery is unreal, and the fresh-squeezed orange juice? That’s my absolute favorite. One sip and I’m transported straight back to Europe—fresh, clean, and full of sunshine.

What really makes Colasanti’s special though is the experience. The greenery section is like a peaceful jungle tucked inside a market, and I’ve been known to stop by just to say hi to the birds in the back. It’s therapeutic.

And I can’t write this review without shouting out the amazing Denise Guckian—one of the kindest, hardest-working women you’ll meet. She’s always ready to help with a warm smile and a great attitude, making every visit feel personal and welcoming.

Colasanti’s isn’t just a store—it’s a tradition, a destination, and a reminder that some places still do it...
