When I entered the business the gentleman behind the counter told me I needed to wear a mask. I informed him that I have a medical condition and should not wear a mask. He and the lady behind the counter then told me I needed some type of medical card if that were the case. I informed them, according to the executive order from the governor that is not the case. They told me I was wrong. Here is the exact passage copied from the executive order by governor Northam:
D. Exceptions The requirement to wear a face covering does not apply to following: Persons with health conditions that prohibit wearing a face covering. Nothing in this Order shall require the use of a face covering by any person for whom doing so would be contrary to his or her health or safety because of a medical condition. Any person who declines to wear a face covering because of a medical condition shall not be required to produce or carry medical documentation verifying the stated condition nor shall the person be required to identify the precise underlying medical condition.
It’s a pretty bad business practice to turn away business without knowing the actual order you’re claiming to enforce. I will never spend a dime at your business, I will tell all my friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers about this incident, and I have already filed a complaint with the department of health that I was refused service for not wearing a mask after informing you I have a medical condition and it was recommended I not...
