My experience at Heron Point was very enjoyable for the most part. As soon as I stepped out of my car the friendly staff helped my with my clubs. The course definitely show Pete Dye type of course tricky but not overall tough/enjoyable. The greens where the best I played on the HHI on the trip and were very true especially for that time of year 5 Stars for that alone. Played the course in October of 2024 and was surprised with the price tag of $300 I think it is over priced. The one thing that I was shocked was they didn't have GPS on the carts?? Also we constantly had to look out for the rangers driving around when you were about to hit very disruptive. Also the course only let you have 2 carts per tee time so I needed to share with a stranger. It worked out the guy was cool but that can be very awkward. With all that being said I would like to play Atlantic Dunes and Harbor town just for the experience. I will have to time my trip better for a better price on my next...
Read moreMy son and I played as a twosome and expected the pace of play to be a bit slow, what we did not expect was a five hour round after our first tee lecture by the starter. He was all about the four hour round and how golfers are disappointed by anything over that. On the course we were behind a group of sixteen golfers playing a Ryder Cup event, no gimee’s, putt everything out kind of tournament. For the price ($250 per person) you would think the ranger would have said something to them but no, he made excuses for them. We played relatively early in the morning so I’m sure the course was backed up for the rest of the day. Course was in great shape but waiting (some as long as ten minutes) on every shot was...
Read moreCourse was in good condition, which it should be for the price tag of almost $270 after tax. They're going to print money here no matter what but the overall experience was more of a $150 course in my groups opinion. Every hole is covered by houses, it's very loud and not a very peaceful round of golf. I would say the par 5s and par 3s are the highlight of the course, 1 and 18 were fun holes as well. Hilton Head in general seems like more of a name for the price rather than the enjoyment you'll get from the round, overall would not return for the same price. When you're paying $250+ for a round I think most of us can agree you are looking for that wow factor from a course, and this just didn't have...
