My family and I were recently in Holden Beach for our first visit to that area - Myself, my husband, our daughter, son-in-law and four grandchildren. We visited the Salt Peddler several times while we were there. They have such a wide variety of items at great prices. Before we left to return home, my daughter went in to buy the T-shirts for the kids. She must have inadvertently dropped one of them before she checked out because when she got home, she realized that my nine year-old granddaughter, Leia, didnât have a T-shirt. I called the Salt Peddler today and spoke to Charlotte. I explained the situation and asked her if there was any way I could describe the t-shirt and if she could let me know how much it was, including the cost of shipping it to us in Ohio. Charlotte said she would take care of it and within 30 minutes, I had pictures of t-shirt options for Leia! She wouldnât even let me give her my credit card information which was totally unexpected. Charlotteâs kindness exceeded all expectations! The fact that she would go the extra mile to find the shirt and mail it to me was more than I could have asked for. We are planning to return to Holden Beach for future vacations and will definitely be visiting the Salt Peddler! Thank you to Charlotte and to the...

The woman working the register was absolutely horrible. I cannot believe the way she treated a customer. A mother came back into the store with her kid after checking out in front of me, and when she walked back in the employee rolled her eyes. I let the customer in front of me and the employee said âjust grab whatever it is to exchangeâ the customer explained the charged price on the receipt did not match the tagged price. The employee SNATCHED the receipt, and said âFOR GODS SAKESâ and slammed open the register, and basically threw the difference in cash at the customer. I was literally speechless. I have never witnessed such ugly behavior. I will not be shopping here ever again, and I will make sure to take this encounter as public as I can, this business should be closed. To the horrible woman, shame on you. People are bringing their hard earned money to you, so to either attempt to steal it, or treat people like trash for kindly approaching you about a mistake is disgusting....

She asked, in a hostile tone, âWhat do YOU want?â I smiled and replied, âIf youâre open, I was looking for a swimsuit.â The woman jerked her hand up in a gesture which I took to mean, âok.â Then I asked, âwhich way shall I go?â The woman replied, âif youâll give me a minute, Iâll turn the lights on and tell you!â Her tone was so angry and off putting that I said, âthanks. Iâll leave.â And I did. If she wasnât ready fora shopper, she might have maybe smiled and said, âIâm not ready yet, but if you can give me a little time, Iâll help you.â She made it clear I wasnât welcome. No problem. There are other stores. Iâm sorry. Maybe she was just having a bad day. I...
