The 2 stars is only so high because they are open till midnight and that's slightly more convenient than the hours of their counterparts. That extra time is not free, not at all. The before COVID hours were 24 per day-and we complained about how out of control the prices are. Now the prices are even higher and the closest thing to convenience is that 2 to 3 extra hours, which is enough time to get off work 2nd shift and grab the forgotten foods (as long as they weren't fruit or vegetables you rely on to be fresh, in stock). You can get Burger meat of a less quality for only 2x what you pay at Aldi. As if that was not enough to get you to plan ahead, this store only staffs one guy at the end of the day, and not one who knows how to treat a customer. He is so busy trying to convince people to leave bags at the counter that I'm sure other shoppers can walk out with their whole order. I had to politely decline to leave my bag on the floor that was washed last I expect before the cashier was alive. Not only that, I had to explain that if he is unable to ensure the store will not be open to shoplifters on his watch, why would I trust him to watch my bag on top of the store? He attempted compromise by asking me to leave it in the middle of the floor at the end of a register aisle so I could see it as well. That provided the issue that the floor was still filthy, I still could not see it, and it looked like something that was left behind and free to take. I was with another person who ended up holding the bag at the front door to avoid these problems, however, I'd rather have left before getting food for dinner that night than leave my bag in the middle of the floor at a grocery store. That is one request I have not come across before and I have only been asked by this employee at this family fare. I left a note on the complaint box notes but management seems to not be on...
Read moreSo wonderful of them to update their holiday hours on Google Maps. For those of us Millenials either too poor to own a vehicle or simply terrified to use that mode of transportation as a result of knowing the state issues Driver Licenses to Boomers who are, for all intents and purposes, blind and refuse to hang up their keys... in spite of the existence of apps like Uber and Lyft... But that's a whole another issue entirely...
As I was saying, it's so wonderful of them to update their holiday hours on Google, so those of us who travel by foot or bicycle might not have to freeze our appendages off only to find out they've been closed since 4PM. It's not as if Spartan Stores doesn't have at least 1 employee assigned to managing their presence on the web. I'm watching their advertisements interrupt nearly every Youtube video I watch. Does a store that everyone already knows about REALLY need that many YouTube ads? For real, like who forgets that the grocery store is a thing... "Oh yeah, there's a grocery store, I totally forgot about that... I've just been eating at restaurants every meal"
That's sarcasm...
NO ONE FORGETS THAT THE GROCERY STORE EXISTS!
STOP RUNNING ADS! AND FOCUS ON MORE IMPORTANT STUFF...
LIKE HAVING ACCURATE HOURS OF OPERATION ON GOOGLE...
Read moreI appreciate all the grocery stores and their different look and feel, prices, and products. This one is close to my home and I enjoy the products they serve. There are many other stores like Dollar General close by in the same outlet area as this store, Family Fare. There are many many small grocery stores, specialty shops, and kther grocery stores around Holland.
My family has shopped here for a while, and they have a lot of selections at affordable prices. There is a good selection and a wide variety of products. They have a lot of deals and a coupon book that will save anyone a lot of money. FAMILY FARE also has different isles with foodstuffs from different areas of the world, and I always like their selection. Although, there are many other stores (Asian, Mexican, and others) that probably have a wider variety of foodstuffs. They also have a really good meat section (deli) in the back middle area and a fresh seafood section in the back right corner, as well as a frozen seafood section right to the right of the fresh seafood section. Along with shopping at other superstores, warehouse clubs, franchises, mom-and-pop shops, and farmers market, Family Fare is a good choice for a loyal...
