Aqua Pools — Local services in Homer Glen

We’ve been entertaining the idea of a pool for the past few years. We first contacted Aqua Pools in the summer of 2019. They came highly recommended by several neighbors and friends. We had great initial conversations but we weren’t ready to make the plunge. We reengaged with multiple pool builders during the summer of 2020 during the Covid Peak. Out of the 4 pool builders we interviewed and researched, we went with Aqua Pools. We felt they were the most knowledgeable and experienced with Fiberglass Pools. They also didn’t try to pressure us to anything and listened to our ideas and what we wanted. We knew supply and demand was insane due to Covid and we weren’t sure what the install process was going to be like. We heard a couple of recent horror stories from friends using other pool builders in the area during the Covid mayhem so we were a bit nervous going into it. We worked with Tony from day 1 and our experience from beginning to end exceeded our expectations and put our minds at ease. Aqua handled all the permits and back and forth with the village. They kept us up to date on permitting, potential dig and install date. They also kept our landscaper in the loop and received input from him as needed throughout the permit process and after install as it related to grading. Due to vendor availability, Aqua was able to install our pool ahead of schedule which allowed us to begin swimming at the beginning of the season vs middle of the season. Everyone was professional and easy to work with. Even after Aqua completed the install, they are always available for questions. We have used text message and Facetime to get questions answered about the equipment or just general new pool owner questions. Tony has been very responsive and so helpful. The only regret we have is not doing it back in 2019 when we first entertained the idea. Last year we started kicking around the idea of getting a pool. We talked with a few companies, even had them to our home. Surprisingly, we never even heard back from some of them. That wasn’t the case with Aqua Pools. Whether we met at our home or at the store, there was always someone available to answer our questions. Tony was very helpful and super patient with us, too. An in ground pool is a huge investment and we definitely took our time in deciding what we wanted, etc. Knowing how slammed Aqua and other companies were last year, I was very impressed with Aqua and Tony. We were never pressured to move along and decide faster. We were never pressured to spend more money. We talked thoroughly about the timeline, what to expect throughout the process and what their responsibilities and ours would be. My phone calls or texts have always been answered in a timely fashion as well. We were realistic that perhaps there could be delays or hiccups along the way. With the ongoing pandemic, anything could happen. We also realize we are not the only customer of theirs, yet somehow they always treated us as such and we greatly appreciated the customer service. When our village required a change, Aqua took care of it. They never tried to charge us more money for the extra dig that was being required, labor or material. It was amazing to watch the fiberglass pool be delivered and how they get it back to the yard. It really took a crew to get it done and everyone was very pleasant throughout that process, too. Aqua Pools also worked to coordinate with our landscaper as well which was super helpful. Our pool is up and running as of a couple of days ago. Very disapointing service... I called to have our pool checked- water was leaking and we couldn’t figure out why- they told me that they will send somebody out to check the return lines. Three days later they called me to get my credit card information - because they will not come out unless they have payment information on file. I gave them information and next day they camo out checked our pool told us to fill it up and keep it running and that they will return next day. So next day, hey came out again, I assume checked the pool- and left without any explenation! I have no idea what they did, and what is wrong with my pool. I didn’t even know they left. So I called Aqua pool and they told me that service man they sent to my house (I belive she said it was Junior) does not call the office or write notes in their system- so when he is done for the day he will return to the office and give them report- then they will call me and let me know what is going on with my pool. I never got a call! So I called them, only to find out that service has left for the day- and nobody has any informatio for me - and that I should call bac tomorrow. Right now I was on the phone with 2 people and currently on hold for 20 min because I asked to speak with somebody that is in charge. Still no answer and still no information. Very disfunctional, disorganized, unprofessional. Just plain horrible! The company sent out a worker to my home, who doesnt report back to them and there is no way I can find out what he was doing on my property!

UPDATE - after 30 min on hold- store manager (so they told me) Tony picked up the phone only to tell me that he has no information and can’t help in any way- he was very rude and disrespectful and hung up on me! Will not be going back there or hiring them to do any kind of...
