Homewood Falls — Local services in Homewood

Visited several times. There was garbage from locals on the trail but still very nice. Watched a train go above the falls. The parking lot is off the highway 18 (Big Beaver Blvd) it sneaks up on ya. Where it says 1st Ave Buttermilk Falls Natural Area on the map. There’s a clean working porta potty in the parking lot. If you drive down 1st Ave, then you’ll approach the church at the end. The trail starts from the parking lot. It gets steep so be careful. The pool to swim in was over 5 feet under the falls. I found it very beautiful and each trip there was about 1-2 families visiting. DO NOT FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS!!! IT TAKES YOU TO RAILROAD TRACKS above the falls :( Why would you expect people to cross active RR tracks when there is an easily accessible trail from the road below?!

If you do want to see Buttermilk/Homewood Falls, just access it from Route 18 and follow the short trail up. Honestly, not worth making a special trip to see, but if in the area, it's a...
