Bad experience here.
Let's start at the beginning.
Burma with its teak merchants and corrupt clergymen left a great impression upon me.
Witnessing squalor and goat herders from the comfort of first class rail accommodation, I made friends with some remarkable folks who gleamed novels by contemporaries between failed romances and bouts with pneumonia.
With the spirit weakened from beriberi, and a dalliance with a cheap consort of a vulgar vicar, I arrived needing garage service on Rt 19.
Having read the literature of deprivation, I was also depleted.
It was then that a rip off followed at this joint, plus an unfortunate mess up leaving me with an electric window problem.
Writing this 10/12/2023.
They really took me. An ordinary cheap oil change for about $49 and a single turn signal little light bulb was nearly $400. Application of an online coupon lowered it to nearer to final cost of about $330 on my CC. And it's still not working right either. I literally did not understand the paperwork.
But there's more. They broke something else and didn't fess up to it. They gave me the car back with the windows down during a very rainy day. The windows were all up when i brought the car in. Somebody lowered the windows in the shop. Then one wouldn't go up. Nobody had the decency to tell me. I found out when i got in the car to drive off. It's an older vehicle. Playing with windows can, of course, give rise to that. Although I cannot prove it, apparently someone lacked integrity to not fess up despite the fact that the additional cost is going to be on me. I knew if something breaks while they have it, one cannot entirely blame them. But please work with me. Instead they denied it.
I'm in a wheelchair. It's not easy to just go back inside once loaded up into the car at the end. I called on my cell from the car several times.
The glib lady service advisor saw fit to talk over me. Her aggressive explanation was so convoluted, contingent, circular, and lengthy that it was difficult to follow despite myself having earned a graduate degree. The complexity of her explanation of the charges was clearly meant to bamboozle, distract, and confuse. There was an utter refusal to grant me that she understands my distress, my ongoing additional inconvenience, and/or my regrettable additional costs.
What could have been done was somebody say I'm sorry, and come back tomorrow. But no way were they interested in that. There's at least a week wait, another $156 diagnosis fee, then another wait, then $155 an hr for labor, plus I prepay for parts, and then not even a thank you for your business. Oh boy OK. I exist to serve them. I better just pay up.
Plus this will be the third time fixing that same window regulator in an older car I've only had for 3 years and nothing is under warranty. I think that they repaired it once and another shop did it once. Not sure now.
I was a regular customer. But, I cant take it.
I've spent nearly eight thousand dollars in routine repairs and maintenance since I got the car. That's my bad luck not on them. It's a bit much since there's more needed and it is bankrupting me fixing it. It's 23 years old, looks great, but has a book value of maybe ~ $3000. Most of my expenses on it were at other shops, based on date availability.
Bottom line is that the dealer isn't there to help self-pay customers. The repairs department is an obviously cash cow. It's there solely to take maximum profits out of our dumb community. You sign up front to allow it. That's how this works.
I don't have any dignity left anyway. So, there's no real loss there.
Rip offs come in all degrees It's not as bad as the surgeon who billed $23,000 for one hour of his work added to a $100,000 two night hospital bill. Maybe I should be grateful the dealership didn't try that, let's say, $1500 for an oil change and a little lightbulb, like our glorious defense contractors keeping freedom safe and waving little flags at us.
This lame gimp doesn't see a path forward with this establishment after a gyp. I'm not into...

no attention to detail. Missed crucial things that can cause engine failure. Inexperienced or seems inexperience diesel mechanic ( only one on staff at the time and going to school I was told after they slapped my truck together) . Had to get towed back not even 15 minutes from leaving. Tools were taken from my vehicle that belong to me, my vehicle should not have been gone through like that (specialty tool to taken star screw out to take off panel that cover my lugs and IPR tool socket) were in my glovebox. Missing all my valve stem caps - they rotated my tires and rushed. Gave a detailed list of things I needed gone over and was willing to spend money to get ahead of potential issues. NOPE. I ended up needing a turbo and up pipes after leaving this place. I specifically asked for these to be checked and I would pay and wait for replacement. Again no they were in such a hurry and didnt bother to tell me this guy was going to school. I could have brought my truck in some other time instead of being rushed. DOnt rush work. Didnt go back to them since the mechanic they have doesnt know what he is looking for it seems.
The team in the office that is the service team are friendly. It is a shame though the communication was not where it needed to be and the mechanic I dont understand why this all even ended up an issue. I brought this same truck there prior when they had 2 diesel mechanics , may have been they guy who left who worked on my truck last time before this and everything was fine. Or this mechanic being by himself was unreasonable for the load of work Ford gave him. In the future what would have made this experience better would be dont rush the job. I was in no rush and was willing to pay . I asked for any gaskets , orings , clamps whatever could be a leak point if your are taking it apart to be replaced if and when your in there . They for a reason I dont understand reused a radiator hose clamp and it blew on my when driving home. WHY? like for real what the hell. I gave permission for you to replace with new OEM . VGT pigtail they decided to a harness repair saying they could not get OEM pigtail. I found FORD OEM pigtail from ford online. again no one wanted to talk to me about this since they were rushing. THe clip that hold the pigtail connector on was still broken so I ended up having to cut out and replace the pigtail myself when I replaced my turbo and up pipes myself. I asked for IPR to be checked and they checked the ICP instead. Also mentioned it felt like it was going to break when trying to remove but did bother to talk to me about it. I only learned this by reading the paperwork after they rushed me out since this mechanic ran out of time and had to go to school for a week. Poor communication, Poor time management , probably too much work on 1 specialist . Just be realistic. You will make more money and keep people coming back if the work is quality. Yea it might take a little longer but fine . At least then it would be done correctly the first time. Some photos of vgt pigtail, aftermath of coolant issue right after picking up truck over a reused clamp( fault of dealership), turbo noise not resolved or investigated since I suppose there is inexperience here. Turbo was failing and I said to service person to have mechanic check our turbo. Nope. Since I no longer can trust your facility to do the right thing, the only way you can make this review go away is to refund me the entire amount I spent at this visit. I can provide the receipts for the money I had to spend to fix this truck ourselves which far exceeds what I spent with you. TO think , you could have made that money at your facility , had this been handled correctly the first time around. I will never come back for service at this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe found a BMW Z-4 with 5100 miles on it. Really fit the bill! Advertised price was a bit higher than we wanted , but looked at it, test drove it and worked with Todd. We began to talk, then learned the listed price was only if you were going to finance. With dealer add ons for a car they took in a trade and donāt deal with they managed to add nearly $8,000 on to the price advertised on line. Wow! Then comes the sales manager. He took off one thing we didnāt want, did not even attempt to meet our price, no negotiation on a car they knew very little about. The sales manager could not even answer questions about tag transfer and any disclosure about fees, just, we use an outside source and thatās what we pay them. Interesting. We are no longer dealing with this dealership, very disappointing experience. Moral of the story is donāt attempt to by a vehicle from a dealership that does not sell that make and model of car. Maybe the sales manager just thought we were 2 gullible senior citizens. Shame on him! This happened Sunday. Monday we received a call from an on line sales person. Today, Wednesday , my husband received a call from the on line sales person as well as the salesman we dealt with on Sunday. Are they now ready to start negotiating in good faith???? Worst experience ever. We ultimately bought the car. They demanded we finance fur them to meet the listed. We did with the stipulation we could pay off immediately. Vehicle has been in our garage for over a month. Called frequently, the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Have no finance information, we called the bank and they tell us the loan was approved but Jenkins had not followed through. Jenkins claims all things have been submitted from their end. Have not heard from Lake county about tag transfer, another new character from Jenkins emailed a copy of the registration. The manager we dealt with is no longer there. We have five led a complaint with the BBB to force Jenkins to provide appropriate information and accept a check from us for amount of vehicle. We had no intention of financing when we went in there. One of their gimmicks to get more $$$$ from their sales that they have no idea how to handle from the outset. DO NOT DEAL WITH TIS...
