If you like getting robbed and bait and switched this is the place to go! This place will take advantage of you in a heart beat. My wife and I had been looking around to get a new jeep after I hit a deer and totaled our other one. We saw online that this place had a great sales price going on so we went to look. We met with George the sales person. Toured the lot. Was told that the jeep we were coming in to look at was sold, but we found it in the upper lot- red flag #1. The wife drove it down to the show room and then I test drove it. When I test drove it I realized that it had an after market radio, not a huge deal but that means it no longer had GPS, or Sirius radio as advertised. When I brought that up to George he said the people that wrote that on line doesn’t actually see the vehicle- red flag #2. We sat down and filled out the information they needed for financing. When doing so George was asking about discounts that we may qualify for. He came back with a price of paper and the jeep price went up 6K from what it was listed at! Reason being because we didn’t qualify for the “discounts”. The “discount” were called out in fine print on the bottom of the listing on their website under everything that not one person would end up scrolling to-red flag #3 Georgebtold the wife that I had very good attention to detail and sales people don’t like that- I know the business and how it works and what they do in the back room when it comes to finance and percentage holds and warranty price. I am not about to get taken advantage of. I was ready to walk but George went and they lowered the price some. Still way above the listed price. They wouldn’t bring it down any more because the other reason was it was going to go to auction. The wife really wanted it so we let them run the numbers. Joe the finance manager came back with 2 approvals right away. The first one was double the interest we have ever paid. They were trying to talk us into it because they didn’t require proof of income. And that would be the easiest. Red flag #4 I know it’s because the bank would give them a larger kick back for writing us. The other bank required the proof- no issue. When first asked Joe what the interest rate was and it was higher then we could get from our bank but we still let them run the numbers for the sake of it. When Joe came back with the numbers the interest rate went up 1.2% higher then he first told us. Red flag #5 I asked for the out the door price and we left for the day because we had other obligations for the day. But Joe took my bank card to place a hold on the Jeep. Joe gave me a hand written receipt with the amount of deposit. When we looked at our bank we noticed that more was taken out. Red flag #6 I called them the next day they were open. Told them that I feel we could get a better out the door price knowing that the Jeep was going to auction they would not get what they were asking for it. I spoke with Joe and he told me that he couldn’t do it. Also that if I was going to use an outside financing company the price would be 2k more then the price he gave me days before!! Red flag #7. When I told him to cancel the hold and refund the full amount they took out of my bank he told me he couldn’t do that because the credit machine charges to swipe the card. I was never told that or I would have went down the road to the bank and pulled out cash. He tried to blame it on George. Red flag #8. I spoke with the GM. I don’t remember his name but he in turn told me that they could do the full amount in the refund. We waited a week for the refund. Spoke with people on and off the whole day. Joe even told me that he would email me a receipt. I didn’t get one so I called the next day and went through the same thing. Joe called me back asking for the card number. I tried to call back even left messages. Then drove down there after waiting 6 hours for a call back. When I got there Joe told me that I didn’t have to show up I just needed to call. I HAD BEEN CALLING! I have my receipt now. I’m never going...
Read moreI made an appointment here to look at a 2016 Jeep Patriot with 68,000 miles back in December. I had every intention of purchasing the Jeep. The lady with whom I initially spoke with said that everything would be finalized right then and there, and that I would be able to drive the jeep home. I would later find out that the customer service phone team is located overseas, not at the actual dealership.
After driving around two hours, I arrive at the dealership. The place looks great. I am met by a gentleman who informs me that the Jeep I am there to view is a “fine piece”. We sit down to discuss the vehicle, and I am asked if I want to test drive it. Upon checking the status of the vehicle in their computer system, he informs me that the Jeep is in their shop for routine service and a battery replacement.
The guy then sets off to check the status of the Jeep to see about us test-driving it. So there we were, left sitting by ourselves for around thirty minutes or so. Finally, the guy pulls up in the jeep and escorts us outside for the test drive.
I first noticed that the brake rotors and the struts were highly rusted. It was clear that this vehicle had sat for a long time. The gentleman informs me that they had to jump-start the Jeep for our test drive. I open the driver's door to pop the hood. I first noticed that the interior had a lot of cosmetic flaws that were not mentioned in the listing. The photos were taken in such a way that these flaws were not visible in their vehicle listing.
We all pile in. Upon putting the Jeep in drive, I hear a loud clunk from the engine bay. I knew immediately that this was likely a bad motor mount. I mention this to the gentleman and he shrugs it off.
I proceed to the exit of the parking lot and go to turn on my right turn signal. Get this. The turn signal would not work. It was at this moment that I noticed that many of the vehicle electronics were not working. The clock on the radio was powered on, but that was about it. Aside from the blower motor, none of the other electronics were functioning. Absolutely unbelievable. I tell the guy I’m no longer comfortable performing the test drive without any indicator lights. This was a busy highway I was about to pull out onto. I knew I would be held accountable if we were to get into an accident. The guy persists and eventually convinces me to proceed with the test drive.
During the short test drive, the jeep made all sorts of noises. It definitely needed struts and brakes all around. Not to mention the electrical issues. The guy then tells me that this sort of thing is to be expected with a used vehicle in this price range. I just laughed to myself. He was seriously still trying to sell me on this Jeep. The vehicle is not fit to be on the road without proper repairs.
We arrive back at the dealership, and upon trying to exit the jeep, I realize that my seatbelt won't unbuckle. So here I am, stuck in the Jeep, trying to unbuckle my seatbelt. After fighting with it for what felt like an eternity, I am finally able to free myself.
We go back inside, the guy takes my phone number and says he’ll call me when the repairs are completed. I knew I wouldn’t be hearing back. This jeep was beat into the ground by the previous owner and then parked for a very long time. This vehicle had many expensive issues that would not be worth the dealership’s time to repair.
I didn’t receive a single apology from anyone at this dealership. What a joke. This dealership wasted my time, their time, and the time of the person who was kind enough to give me a ride there. What was the point of any of this? This vehicle should not have been listed unless it was ready to be sold. This entire ordeal felt like a fever dream, only it wasn’t. My advice to you is to avoid this dealership...
Read moreI have had nothing but terrible experiences with this place since I bought my vehicle a few months ago.
I drove 3 hours here for a specific car, decided to purchase it. Was told I’d need to come back for the vehicle in a few days so they could service it, specifically changing the serpentine belt because we noticed on test drive it was making a squealing noise.
Waited a few days, tried to call and get information on when it would be done to plan my 3 hour trip back, and everyone here is apparently incapable of returning a phone call. Finally reached someone and went back to get the vehicle.
Have it 3 weeks before the belt starts squealing again so I took it to my local ford dealer for diagnosis/repair and they informed me the belt was still original and had never been changed, likely just sprayed to make the noise stop temporarily. HCDJR paid for the repair per my request, but I was out of a vehicle for repairs already after only having it a few weeks.
During this time I had been told my rate was negotiated and I needed to esign a new agreement, which I never received, to start making my payments. When I was finally able to reach a finance person they were upset with me about it vs the fact that it was their own fault for not sending the email on the first place.
Fast forward and the vehicle starts having some major issues (timing chain rattling, not starting, shifting hard through gears) so I called to have it checked out and repaired under warranty. My warranty covers a third row vehicle loaner or rental, and I confirmed multiple times with multiple individuals that the loaner would be a full size SUV (my vehicle is a navigator- seats 7 and has the proper lower latch and tether anchors for car seats to fit my children safely in the third row) and was told specifically I’d be getting a Yukon as a loaner. Start my drive yesterday morning and get an hour and a half into it to receive a call (from someone I left a message for days prior to the holiday trying to confirm one final time my rental would be full size- but this was never returned) to someone telling me that my only option was a Jeep. (Third row but only seats 6 and has no lower anchors for car seats in the third row) after telling them that my vacation falls during this repair time and I need to safely fit my children in the vehicle on vacation. The GM I first spoke to was rude. She placed me through to the only person I’ve felt cares about their customers during this entire process, the GM Tristen. He worked tirelessly to find a rental anywhere after finding out I was promised a lot vehicle from the other GM and apparently they can’t approve that although she guaranteed it without clearing it first.
Eventually it was determined that no where would have a full size rental for the duration of the repair, so I had to settle for the jeep in order to get my husband to work but will be either needing to cancel my vacation or pay for a full size rental for that out of pocket, or fly. Which were never the plans until HCDJR made promises they very obviously couldn’t keep.
When I arrived to pick up the loaner and drop my vehicle off, I sat for close to an hour just waiting for a plate to be put on, and was handed a set of keys by who I’m assuming was the female GM I spoke to earlier in the day. She gave me no timeframe, no idea on of the vehicle has any mileage limitations, nothing. Handed me a set of keys and walked away. When I went outside to even find the vehicle, the maintenance kid had to tell me which one it was to even find it.
I would never ever recommend this dealership to anyone purchasing a vehicle. It has been the most unprofessional, headache of an experience I have ever had. I will be trading in my vehicle elsewhere ASAP only to never have to deal with this...
