Really off putting experience, made to feel unwelcome. A shame because would’ve made purchases but essentially felt turned away. Don’t recommend making a trip here.
Update - this response made me laugh, my children were incredibly well behaved. Your son was kind enough to acknowledge our presence unlike you - and let us know where we should not go. I thanked him for the information, and when my son asked if he could look at something in that area I told him yes. I told you it was my mistake and apologized- it was by no means clear that area was off limits to shoppers unlike the section screened off with a sign saying don’t go here. I apologize for misunderstanding and giving my son permission to look there. But that’s not the problem sir. The problem was before that, when you have an empty shop and a friendly group of people come in and politely look around. Don’t make them feel unwanted and uncomfortable. It’s why I felt compelled to leave this review, and your strange defensiveness only reinforces my point
Reply 2 - please simply change the word ‘sir’ to ‘maam’ then lol. Again, it’s incredibly telling to all who read this strange conversation, that you’re harping on something I 100% owned up to - the store is filled with piles of things of course - not neat displays of items on shelves as in Walmart as you chose to compare - I absolutely made a mistake telling my son that was an area okay to explore. I am not embarrassed nor angry or offended at being told I was mistaken that it was an accessible area. You have a sign marking where customers shouldn’t go, this was not that section. That is totally okay. People make mistakes, my children were not being unsupervised or behaving in an inappropriate manner at all. I take no issue whatsoever with that.
It’s about the vibe, I don’t want to get personal as I choose to treat people with respect even when they haven’t shown me that level of courtesy. I won’t leave details of that nature in a public review, but I have no doubt you know exactly what I’m referring to. I will leave it at that.
In summary, I was made to feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome - witnessed some interpersonal interaction among the family members running the shop that made us squirm. Made a mistake that the owners are harping on as my reason for a poor review, but has no bearing on the off putting experience. Wish I could recommend this place but I can’t. There are much nicer shops in the area with much kinder and more respectful attitudes towards their customers and...
Read moreThis is the spot to go to for candy and toys! They have a wonderful selection of educational toys for littles. There is also a play table set up so you can look around while your child plays. If you like collectables and nostalgic toys Ambeez has you covered on that too! If there is something that you are looking for just ask because they do a lot of online sales as well, and all because you don't see it doesn't mean they don't have it. The candy here is also the best around. Many candies from the 90s (razzles, UFOs, wax bottles) and many candies that you may have never seen before. Jeanette always has some kind of deal...
