Fort Shafter Pool — Local services in Honolulu

Love this pool (must have Island Palms pool pass to enter.) It has a cute, shallow children's cove and a deeper section for adults and bigger kids. The landscaping is lovely. There is a big playground next door. The pool assistant is not a lifeguard, so parents must watch their kids, but the kids get to have more fun than those pools with extra picky lifeguards. No drink vending and the snack machine is not well stocked, so...

This pool is really nice and mellow. Has a splash pad inside the pool area. A baby or more shallow swim area for weak swimmers. Then a semi deep area for older or experienced swimmer. Plenty of areas to setup for lounging and they have a designated eating area if you eat inside the pool. There's a playground next to it down the hill if you want to do some more...

It’s not for army family or military, it’s a private pool only for Island Palm Residents. They really should rename it to Islam Palm Community Pool. The name Fort Shafter Pool is very misleading, Very poor taste of the base to allow this. I brought my baby ready to swim and we are stationed at Camp Smith.
