The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Aliquippa, PA is a one of my FAVORITE places to shop. I always find really great deals on really NICE items. From clothing, shoes and accessories to furniture and other household products, they a;ways something for everyone. It is one of the largest Salvation Army store locations in the area. You can donate items here as well, between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm.
The staff is always helpful and friendly. The lines sometimes can get a little bit long, but they usually open up more registers when this happens. They have in-house vending machines, restrooms and dressing rooms for trying on clothes before you buy them.
Every week, everything labelled with a certain tag color is 50% off, and every Wednesday is Family Day, and all clothing and shoes are 50% off (except for the tag color of the most recently donated items). Additionally, once each month, on the last Monday of the month, everything is the store is 50% off. They don't offer delivery service, but the employees will help you load large items onto your vehicle.
I always find excellent deals on really nice things and I recommend this particular location to everyone! You will find something there you like, AND you'll be helping a...
Read moreOn Wednesdays they have $.99 sales for a certain color of the week. The colors take turns every week. It used to be a good time. The last year it's been tough finding those colors on Wednesdays. I thought business must be good. Well, they recently received some nice italian designer womens clothes, most priced $30 and up. They had been tagged with yellow and green tags past few weeks. Tomorrow is $.99 yellow tag day. I went in today to make sure the stuff was still there, lo and behold it was, BUT they now have WHITE tags on them. Mystery solved. I don't live close so when I would go I buy a lot, of all prices. The dollar deal is what draws me. I guess no more now I know they swap out tags. If you don't want to sell clothes for $.99 then don't have the sale. It would be less work for you, and your customers won't...
Read moreI generally love Salvation Army. I always prefer shopping there over Goodwill as they do a LOT for the community. We moved here a few months ago and I finally got out to visit this Salvation Army. It's clean and well taken care of and I love that the toys are bagged and clean. Also the price tags are stapled (which is always frustrating) but are mostly stapled to the item tag as to not damage the clothing. Awesome.
However I was surprised by how high many of the prices were! I've never seen such high prices in a Salvation Army before. A pair of shoes for $19.99! And clothing for upwards of $10. I don't care what brand name they are, used items are usually priced better in other SA locations. I'll still stop in to look for deals, but wish the items were priced like other Salvation...
