Very good care. Check in to ER was very slow. 1 lady at a small desk that was very slow. Had 2 people in line ahead of me she took way too long with and I was having severe vertigo. Once I got sent back things went way faster. The actual medical staff were amazing! Very thorough, quick and efficient! Same lady came back to my ER room to gather insurance info. Told her my main insurance to be billed was VA. Gave her my VA Healthcare card. She stated she saw I had Medicare, I said "yes but do not use that use my VA otherwise I'll get a bill so make the VA my primary for billing & records" She had a very smart-allick tone and stated "well I don't know why because everyone else uses their Medicare as primary" i was pretty offended and obviously she's not admitted veterans that receive VA healthcare benefits. My stay was very good. ALL staff from the nursing assistants to nurses to the Dr's were very responsive and took everything very seriously. I was extremely impressed. Only downfall was I needed a MRI of brain/neck and they only had 1 machine and was backed up all day with people waiting on their MRI. Had mine early evening & was read around 8pm. Should've been discharged after read but they do not have a "discharge doctor " after 8pm so had to Stay another night just to get discharged. Irritated me a bit nut just went with it, they couldn't do anything about that. Had to threaten to leave AMA if discharge MD didn't discharge me by 9am. Staff stated she had several discharges to get through, I had to be adamant stating I should've been discharged around 8pm last night, no I'm not waiting on her to go through a laundry list of patients to discharge and end up here till noon. Charge nurse relayed message to discharge Dr & they were very kind & understanding about it & I was discharged before 9am. All in all, amazing care. Good food. I'd definitely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis hospital for labs, diagnostics, and PT are great. Itās clean and the staff is professional. Also being admitted once is why 4 stars. I donāt think they have enough staff. I had to be admitted for an MRI to completely rule out a stroke. The MRI was done quickly (within 4 hours). I was placed on stroke protocol even though the medical opinion was that I didnāt have a stroke. With that the male employees (Iām a female) were overly precautiousā¦male nurse gave me blood thinning shot in my arm instead of the stomach. My arm looked like I was hit by a line drive. Later a female nurse gave me the same shot in my stomach with barely a mark, keeping my dignity.
The same male nurse I caught observing me through the window, ran off in a haste when I made eye contact.
The female nurse was obviously more experienced and I know hospital are training grounds.
Going into my second day, waiting for a neurologist (robot doc) to review the MRI, the day shift male tech/assistant came in after tending to me during his shift before shift change to ask if I was going to the restroom without assistance. He needed to note it for the next shift. Itās a good thing I didnāt need assistance.
They never got a robot doc to come and talk to me. Some neurologist reviewed my file and provided a diagnosis that was passed on to me by the attending.
I was placed on a heart monitor due to low resting heart rate and blood pressure. I have low BP avg 60/112. While just laying there my BP went to 55/80, lowest ever for me. That didnāt concern anyone. I also got so bored that I started doing lunges and squats, spiking my heart rate up. The machine made a noise and I remembered my heart was being monitored, so I stopped but no one came in for that either.
The food is good. Healthy and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery quick attention to my concerns that brought me through the emergency room. I received decent follow up once admitted onto the 4th Fl . I was admitted for what was supposed to be a overnight 24 hour observation for cardiac and possible stroke as I have medical history with both but that turned into four days stay during which their MRI machine broke down & I had to be transported out to House Central in Ocoee and brought back which I did not like because that is the hospital. My mother passed away in and I certainly didnāt want to be there.. But I will say the attending physician Doctor Yates was most excellent & very thorough wonderful Doctor she is although some of the nursing staff, especially in the mid afternoon and evening hours Did not have good bedside manners & were a bit lazy and rude at times . Plus in the kitchen and food selection has drastically changed from another stay I had months back and is now beyond terrible would not recommend having to rely on eating from them. And it had nothing to do with the type of diet plan my doctor had me on. It was just very very poor options, servings temperature, and quality of food even for a hospital food, especially considering Iāve had two other states at this hospital and never experienced the food service like this. I did have the opportunity to speak with one charge nurse to address some of my concerns with one of the nurses aids that was very very rude uncaring and had the worst bedside manner. Heck, she didnāt even have any bedside manner other than that overall my stay was pretty decent. Hospital is clean very well maintain other than the fact of their MRI machine being down for three of the four days, I was there, but generally speaking very clean well...
