I really appreciated the service these guys provided. It helped me finally get my CDL license on February 7th... the same day the new laws kicked in demanding more classroom hours and hands-on training.
The videos were very helpful, and I was able to pass my pre-trip exam on the first try. But I did flunk at driving skills (parallel parking). However, I went back to practice driving for an hour or two, and took the driving test again. This time passed!
Carmen, in the office, was always helpful and understanding. She did a great job. It was embarrassing that I flunked the written test 3 times, and the driving test 1 time, but she kept encouraging me to go back and try it again.
It's important to understand that this is a CDL Service and not a technical accredited college. Their job is to help you pass the CDL written and driving tests. That means you get lots of tools and resources to study, but not a tremendous amount of hands-on driving. Although, you do get at least 1 hour of drive-time. When I did go to practice the driving skills, though, the guy let me just take as long as I wanted. I appreciated that. I spent about 4 hours doing a practice pre-trip, as well as backing up the truck and so forth. That was very very helpful.
I've driven a 18-wheeler before, so for me this was enough practice. But if you've never driven a big truck, honestly, this probably won't be enough when you go to take your driving test. So, they offer additional 1-hour sessions for $100 each...
Read moreThis place is TRASH. They take your money, give you little to no training, trucks are always broken so good luck trying to pass. They take 6-8 weeks to get you an appt at DPS and when you don't pass, they pretty much say "SORRY no refund". My son was promised great training, solid instructors, and was hoodwinked to say the least. He only drove for 1 hour and it was the day before his test (obviously you don't learn to drive a big rig in 1 hour). The pre trips were a joke, and they are in no hurry to help you. They just take your money and leave you to fend for yourself. You have to contact them to get training, then they forget - and try to cram hours in at the end. BAD BAD BAD....DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!!!! Also not many even speak English so very hard to communicate if you are not...
Read moreDon't waste your time, energy, and money here. This is not a true training progam, they provide no true education. Trucks are typically broken, and have a near empty tank of fuel on testing days, nor are they equipped with proper legal safety items in the truck. You will be waiting at least 2 months for your DPS appointment, only to likely fail because you had an hour of behind the wheel training, with an instructor who doesn't speak any English. You'll watch the same video on repeat for the non driving instruction. Luckily, I had friends outside of the school help me out to study, and I already could drive a manual, but without that I never would've passed, had I relied on the B.S this...
