Love INC Heartland Thrift Store — Local services in Howard Lake

I came here once and left a 5 star review .. coming here again and making good conversation with the worker and was told about volunteering .. I had paper work to fill out and needed to sign a paper that basically tells me to keep my mouth shut about anything with the organization/ church , people , etc .. I felt really uncomfortable signing so i didn’t .. I got a call from a man asking me why didn’t I sign . I explained to him it made me feel uncomfortable if I was being honest.. volunteered with a church before watching children and helping out with events and never once had been asked to sign anything with that description. I understand the background check and I was all for it but to be silenced is not something I’m willing to do especially if something weird is going on .. I grew up in a Catholic Church and things like this is what pushed me away . I go to a Christian church and would never even feel pressured to sign anything .. at the end of our conversation he still wanted me to sign the paper when I went into volunteer needless to say I felt so uncomfortable I had to call the lady to let her know I was not going to help and I felt bad because she seemed sweet but she didn’t even respond.. I would never feel the need to talk about other people lives in general unless it was to help them out of a situation and help them with resources .. I only write this review because I’m still uneasy after 2 weeks passing . I had to be silent when I was younger of situations I’ve been through and never again.. Lisa who works ithe main office is rude and lied on me, I tried talking to Jim the director but he said " why would she lie Susan? " Well why would I lie? Just because I reached out for help doesn't make me a liar!
