I was told by the so called mechanic at westway power equipment that I ran my tiller out of oil and that is why my engine was frozen and for westway to rebuilt the motor it was going to cost $800.00. I could not afford the $800 this month, so I went to westway and pick it up. To top it off this work of art ripped me off for $60 for his diagnose, which was completely wrong. The only thing that was wrong with the engine it got some rain water in the engine and it rusted up a little. So, I removed the plug and spray WD 40 in the plug hole, after letting it set for about one hour I pulled the starter rope and the engine turned freely and started up, so much for that so called mechanic opinion "diagnoses" of why my engine was frozen up. The only oil issue that I could find was the engine was a little low of oil; to fill it up it took 4 ounces of oil.
Westway should give me back my $60 and fired that worthless so called mechanic, because you before you recommend an engine to be overhauled just maybe you should know what the hell you are doing.
If anyone needs work to be done on their small power equipment you should take your power tool to ACE Hardware on 22nd Street and Kolb in Tucson AZ, these guys will not charge you to diagnose the problem with your power tool.

Read moreWestway is a small engine and equipment repair business that is reminiscent of the days when skilled technicians and mechanics repair equipment based on knowledge and experience. Unlike the big box stores repair shops. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and understand exactly what needs to be done to get your equipment back to operating correctly. They troubleshoot the problem and only fix exactly what needs to be repaired or replaced - not up selling like other places. We have had them repair several pieces of equipment for us and we are always satisfied. We highly recommend these guys...
Read moreBought a cub cadet riding lawnmower from them a month and a half ago, for 1200$ it ran good for about a month. It started to die about half way thru the lawn and would have to wait about 10 mins.before it would start again. The next time I needed to do my yard it wouldn't start, looked around the fuse was blown and then would run for 10 min.then blow another fuse. I went into see them about it and was told it would be 3 weeks before the could get to it, and that there was no warranty. This is a very bad company if they don't warranty their products. Don't buy or take...
