Wow! This national monument is unreal! This has been on my bucket list for sometime. If you are in the Rapid City area - take the less than 2 hour drive and go see this incredible monument.

The loop trail around the tower is about 1.5 miles and paved. You could climb up the rock scramble which gives some up close views of the rock formation. If you want to go higher than the scramble you have to register with the visitors...

The beauty of Devils Tower deserves five stars however the facilities at the park/Monument lower the rating. Theres is a small gift shop however no displays or exhibits about it. This may be due to forest fires that risk any building constructed. However, the lack of a traditional park information and exhibition center is disappointing. But the wildlife, as seen in the photos I attached, is abundant and...

Amazing, unique rock formation and worth a stop if you are driving across country via a northern route. Parking is extremely limited at the start of the trails! The walk around the tower is mostly shaded and very easy to walk, although the larger members of American society seemed to have trouble breathing. The prairie dog town on the drive up was a fun spot to stop and see also!
