I attended the Walking horse show this evening. I would have to say it is very disappointing to attend a horse show that is very unorganized and not enough horses for the show. There were several classes that just had one horse in the class. There were classes that were skipped due to no horses. This needs to be organized better and advertised more so people know of this show. They need an announcer who knows how to announce and know what is to be done in the class. If this show is to gain points then there needs to be more done to make it a horse show worth coming to and entering in classes. The Tennessee walking Horse Association would be disappointed in this show and be embarrassed to have this show on the list for the year. A Tennessee Walking Horse is a great horse and we have the greatest horse show in the world for the great horse!! So if you host a walking horse show make it worth entering and make worth having. First time attending the big parade. Got there a hour early and let’s just say… Never again!! Had to move from my spot twice because people claimed we were sitting in their “reserved” spot when there were no signs that said that. Yes, I know some spots are definitely reserved (there are signs indicating that) but these were most definitely not reserved. Just people wanting to bully their way into a spot!!! We ended up sitting behind the sidewalk so people constantly walked in front of us. Parade had too much spacing in between, making it way too long and boring several times. Bands played amazingly though and the pageant girls were beautiful as always. However, that whole “reserved a spot” is bullshit. Never in my life…. And I’ve been to several parades.
