I canāt remember who I talked to first, who was very polite and accommodating.
But Gail, who I assume is in charge of the finances, is one of the rudest people I have ever dealt with in a customer service position.
I had my electric turned off a few months ago and called to ask about a refund. Which had been mailed in the middle of March, when I was forced to vacate my home because I couldnāt afford to make rent, my insurance, or phone bill.
Keep in mind I had a full time job, but unbeknownst to me had a business license still open in this state. So the TN IRS was garnishing my wages by 50%. So my take home pay for 8 weeks averaged around 200 every week.
I could eat and get to work only.
When I asked, politely why I wasnāt called before my electric was shut off, or the refund was mailed.
This woman decided to get up my tail about not having a forwarding address, literally told me I need to āStep Up.ā Just so rude.
Last time I had been at my mothers I got into a physical altercation with her new husband.
My dads are dead and brother teaches the military states away.
Iām on my own
Over an act that is simply part of the job.
If there was another service provider in town, that woman would be costing Carroll County Electric business hand over fist.
Southern hospitality my butt.
Gail needs to āStep Upā and seek professional help for that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSeveral things. First, the website. The website is a replicated website of poor programming. It is used in Kentucky also. I should stress, Mayfield, Ky. No doubt other areas too. It functions the same way in Kentucky as it is in Tennessee. It's one website, replicated to the user portal. The initial homepage and info will be a little different. The portal is the same. Second, the smart meters. The smart meters are not smart. It will eventually be reality news when the electric companies finally admit it. I have noticed in Ky and in Tn, the meters tend to adjust according to the outside temperature, not the inside. Not in regularity but it does happen. In other words, if it is 90 degrees outside your daily usage states $5, but you did not use any more electricity than you did when the temperature was 60 degrees. There's a flaw in the smart meter relay, somehow, somewhere. Thirdly, I know this for a fact because in Kentucky, the usage showed daily amounts when in reality, the electric was NON-Existent during several month time frame. I contacted them and altho I was not charged, they never could give me an explanation for it. No electric. No meter. But it showed...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst off, connecting service is a nightmare. The website program used is terrible, user unfriendly, and confusing. When asked if you can submit a paper application, customer service directs you bak to the unyielding website. As a long time customer of Carroll County Electric with accounts, one would think it would be no issue to connect another account. I thought, "I will just call them up!" When I called, I expected hometown friendly service. Unfortunately, I was told again to go back to the online application to pay the deposit. Can I pay over the phone? Impossible. Brandy, the agent I spoke to, informed me that essentially, the phone call was a waste of both of our time and there is no way she can see the status or even help get this Luddite application through the queue. I am not sure who sold you on the website Carroll County and its application progress, but I certainly give it one star. If I had another option, I would gladly utilize it. I can see why some people in Carroll County operate "off the grid", because it is very difficult to hook up service and it may be the...
