Dollar General — Local services in Huntsville

Visited this store for the FIRST time while visiting my father in law in the hospital down the road. I saw on their website that they close at 10. We got there nearly before 9 pm and there was a guy literally standing between the doors and as we walked up he kept looking down at his watch very noticeably over and over. And as we walked up he says " we close in 2 minutes" and stated they're closing early because they've been "slow". THEN proceeds to tell me I have to leave my backpack (im visiting my father in law in hospital so i was traveling) he says for me to leave Mt backpack at the cash register.. so first look at me and he thinks in a thief lol. I stated, sure...not with my wallet though. We proceed to speed shop for our items and leave.

Whem I tell you I have NEVER had somebody act so unprofessionally towards a customer..lol it was almost comical.

Whoever manages that store needs to do better. I have never been allowed to close early at a place of employment just bevause it was "slow". Ya got some hard workers there. Good job. They couldn't have found some busy work to do for an hour? No..let's stand by the door and ostracized...

I went in to this store to get bottled water for my grandsons game. There was a young woman with kind of short with black hair, she was extremely rude and raised her voice at me. all I did was ask her where the cold water was. She said we didn’t have any, then I walked to the back and there was a gentleman there and he was very nice and I asked him where is your water? I just need some single individual waters and he showed me. He also told me that there should be some cold waters up by the register so Icontinued to walk up to the register And that’s when I found the waters and put them on the counter. One of them rolled off and I asked the girl did that fall off and she said don’t assume anything and I said you have a problem and she started raising her voice at me and then a tall gentleman came out and took care of me and was very professional. This woman does not need to be working in customer service at a retail store, I am visiting Huntsville from Houston and this was the worst experience I’ve ever had in a store she was actually scary and made me feel very...

I give this store 5 stars. I have a Dollar General directly across the street from my subdivision on Sam Houston Ave. Huntsville Texas, and it's disgusting, the staff is so rude and unaproachable it's crazy. I go out of my way to drive to this store. It's neat and clean, and the staff goes out of their way to help you find what you're looking for. There's a night crew that sings all the local radio songs...
