Austin Wood Recycling — Local services in Hutto

At one point I had switched to using Whittlesey mulch for a year but it just wasn't as good. The screening is better at Austin Wood Recycling which produces a finer mulch that mats down and makes leaf cleanup from hedge trimming or just fall leaf drop much easier.

The Whittlesey has more chunks in the mulch which never mat down much. This causes the mulch to migrate over time more and can make cleanup more time consuming.

I'm the owner of a landscape company and consider myself a bit of a mulch snob. Only the Austin Wood Recycling mulch meets my standard. Talk to Chris in sales and he will get you taken care of.

The Austin Wood Mulch is also composted the old school way to get it's color the natural way. Whittlesey uses the flash composting method and dyes their mulch. I prefer the standard composting method which creates mulch over the course of close to a year. I went to Austin Wood Recyling to buy the Texas Native organic compost in bulk. Upon arriving, I was informed they didn't have that particular type in bulk but in bags only. I was upset because I drove all the way from Pflugerville, and didn't go to the landscaping company near home. However, their manager, Justin, and customer service rep, Sarah, were very helpful and resolved the issue quickly. Justin even suggested another soil blend and gave me a free sample to try.
