Customer service is horrible, the people who run this business sound and look like Italian men. They know they have a very successful business that makes more than $400,000 a year. Mr. Tree who is the manager I believe is very arrogant and rude. When you have a business, you need to understand the customer is always right when they're spending their money with you. I bought something from them that was over $5-it was $5 and some change. I was told that my card payment didn't go through after I swiped and put my pin in. The cashier said they only accept chip cards and she was very shady in my interaction with her after I swiped and put my pin in. That was a lie that my payment didn't go through. I was told by someone who is a southside native and familiar with businesses on the south side not to shop here ever that they're shady. Days later I checked my card balance, and the amount did come out of my account. When I was paying, I was told after I swiped my card that they didn't accept cards that didn't have a chip, meanwhile the card reader said "Thank you" after they received my payment. I called to ask for my money to be returned to me and Mr. Tree gave me a lot of attitude on the phone and was saying "it's only $5"-I didn't argue with him but you never know someone's finances. Me and my sister had spent about or around $25 about an hour before I came back 30 minutes later to buy bbq sauce. He was very dismissive of the fact that they took my money, and I didn't receive what I paid for. He kept saying "it's only $5" and "you clearly didnt see the sign where it says we only accept cards with chips" like I was the one who was wrong to be asking for my money back. When I asked for my money back Mr Tree said "Oh I don't do that but you can have a store credit"... if I came in there to buy a product and I was $5 short they would say oh well that's not their problem. I can't walk into footlocker saying I'm $5 short and to let me have the shoes I can't afford. If the $5 wasn't that big of a deal then why I couldn't just take the bottle of $5 bbq sauce since $5 is nothing. The way they check receipts in this place, every penny counts for them, and it also does with a lot of customers. You never know someone's finances-I could've just lost everything and the only thing I could afford everyday was something to eat and I just felt very shaded when interacting with this business. This place and the staff need a serious attitude adjustment and reality check. Won't be shopping here anymore. I hear from some people they're business is associated with the MOB too so they told me I shouldn't go back in there. I told Mr Tree I lived in Peoria after he was asking unnecessary questions like where do I live and when I told him I lived in Peoria he was like "Oh that's not even far" ...Peoria is 2 almost 3 hours away from this candy warehouse. The whole interaction was just off putting and like I was the one in the wrong or like what I'm saying didn't make sense. If this company lost $5-$6 a day or an hour they wouldn't be saying "oh it's just $5-$6 a day no big deal" they would want their money back. I wonder how many people a day they do this to and how many times they've gotten...
Read moreWell i was in town for the weekend with my with my beautiful, woman, shopping, and exploring, when she's suggests, let's go to the candy warehouse, I said ok cool let's go ,so apond of arrival. We enter the store she warned me about the little kid policy, no small children, I asked why she said that's their rules, so I said ok it 89 degrees outside so ur little ones have to stay in a hot car ,so the security was not letting any kids under 18 but I saw two 3, and a five year old in a shopping cart.so as we were checking out with over 500.00 worth of goods and supplies for my lady's small business she's runs, she walked away to get one more item,,and black women probably about mid 50s to 60 ask to not pull forward, I said ok ,she was counting my item in my cart, then she said pull forward, she didn't say hi or welcome, so my lady approaches she said hi to her,now am a 6,4 man and am rarely miss, so I proceed to put in heavy item on the counter, she said in a loud unpleasant tone COULD You bring the item close to me ,soi did ,then she said push them to the side, so I did the again in a loud tone look push the stuff to the side so I did ,then she said ur not helping u don't no how to listen, I said wow,it was like she hated her career choice job she picked, and target me today.so my lady wanted to take an item off she said I have to do and audited, I need all item back on the counter, so I asked do you need me to help she i guess if want to ,so I said it must be stressful to have to work for someone, I remember dose days, then she said we'll am the boss of my house and I said me too from a car not from semi truck payment, to a collage tuition, but fact that ur going back a forward with me being a 1st time customer says alot of poor training, and customer service, as we were leaving another worker check my receipt, he ask how are we doing I said not a great experience, he said why so I explain how rude and unprofessional the cashier was, and also she over charged us 30.00 dollars he saw it on the receipt, and one item i the cart was not ring up ,so he said door about that a kinda brush it off like oh well, so I said we travel a long way ,and not be treated like this bottom line me and my lady will support the other warehouse on Cicero, not this one ,and you can not bring ur own kids in not a family friendly place, let's stop supporting these type of business in the block, and brown community's if they treat...
Read moreMy cousin referred my daughter and I to this store. We live in the suburbs and only have Sam's Club, but they do not sell a variety of candy. We came to this store today 16/10/10 to buy 2 boxes of candy. First the security guard told my daughter she can not bring her pop in the store so we took the pop back and put it in the vehicle. No problem. Then he said my 12 year old daughter can not walk around the store she had to be in a cart .... What! I grabbed my daughters hand and proceeded to show my older daughter where the candy was. I was going to give her the money after I confirmed the price for myself and leave. Two of the workers came to me and stated my daughter can not walk around the store. Mind you, I had her by the hand so she can not get into anything. My older daughter had what she wanted in the cart. All I had to do was give her money. One of the workers told me my daughter can get into a cart he had. I asked him if he was going to pick her up and put her in, because I sure couldnt. He then lifted the back of the cart so she could crawl in like she was some type of animal. When she refused, the other worker told us he would take care of us and ushered us to the front. After we stood there waiting for a few minutes he said he could not check us out and asked us to leave because they have rules. I said that was fine it's another candy store across the street and I bet they aren't treating children like animals. This is a freaking store that sells groceries and candy. Not a liquor store! We do not come from a place where children are treated like animals, therefore I do not expect to go anywhere and let someone else treat my children as such. Bottom line I am glad these guys did treat us with disrespect because across the street the prices were much cheaper for what my older daughter wanted and the store is "Child Friendly." It may not seem that the store across the street had much but all we had to do was ask if they carried the item and the young man asked us what flavor and went to the back to get the merchandise. No caging a 12 year old or child of any age period...
