G I Surplus and Pawn, LLC — Local services in Idabel

My family and I have spent years going to this shop. Mainly because it was one of the only convenient options (they know that and their attitude reflects it)... not only is the service awful. I rarely call them, because I know better... When you call and ask if a specific firearm is in stock/parts. They'll tell you "yes" (you can ask them to kindly confirm if the product is there). They get annoyed and tell you "IT IS!". Low and behold you go in there and they dont have it. Get baited into going there, probably in hopes you'll settle for something you dont want. Awful business practice! One of my favorite experiences is when I asked them if they can take a look at a bolt/ bolt carrier group for a second opinion. I get a big "absolutely!" I finally get some time off about two weeks after the fact and packed my two firearms up there... I get a "hello, sir! Grabs firearms, checks if they're loaded what do you want?" I proceed to tell them, "good morning, im here to have the bolts visually checked out & night vision scope potentially mounted that i purchased here." Their response- "we dont dont do that. Sorry! Theres a guy in Paris area." Trying not to argue- I said "I came in here about two weeks prior and discussed it with the staff. They said they'd take a look." Them "no, we dont do that here." I acknowledged them and just left awkwardly. I needed some parts and wanted to confirm if they would function accordingly with my rifle. I kindly asked the washed up GI Joe acting dude with the beard. I couldn't find any info on the part via google/reading- I get a mundane absolute bs response. Another customer walks up with his bolt action and interrupts us- "here's that rifle I asked you to look at." Younger beard gi joe guy grabs it and walks away from me and proceeds to tinker on the firearm. My thoughts- "weird, i was in here earlier this week and they stated they dont do any inspecting/messing with firearms." I guess you have to be a friend to get any sort of service/ favor. Loyalty obviously wasn't good enough. Not even from generations of business with these guys. Before assumptions are made... I never was once rude, aggressive, argued, name dropped or specified my family name, etc. This isn't the wild west and none of that should matter. Id come in, make my purchases, thank them and leave. Do they have a good gun selection? Absolutely. I can honestly say, i hate this store. Their service, belittling and attitudes... Oh, ive been laughed at before in this store. Maybe some questions are just "stupid" to them. Firearm safety- should never be a joke! Fellow review readers/ gun enthusiasts- don't sell yourself short and shop here. Apologies for the rant. I visited this business with my wife today as she purchased her last rifle there and was very happy with this business and the employees. I'm sure glad I went back with her today, because she purchased a handgun, and I picked out a couple beautiful rings! I loved these folks! They were super accommodating, helpful, and even though we closed the place down, they never made us feel as if we were inconveniencing them because we came in 30 minutes before closing. On the contrary, they took their time, showed so much patience, and made us feel at home!! Can't say enough good things about this place. They deserve ALL THE STARS!! We will be visiting them...

Visited Broken Bow from out of town and decided to visit local pawn and gun stores for a new AR. Went to G.I Surplus by recommendation of other stores when they didn’t have any semi-automatics in stock. Man was I impressed! Largest selection compared to all stores I visited and they had the best price. I found exactly what I was looking for for $200 UNDER MSRP brand new! That blew my mind. I looked at the local gun shops in my home town and the same rifle was over MSRP used. Staff was incredible as well and made the process easy.
