Exceptional golf and easily the best course in Idaho. The practice area alone is top tier with a separate short game area and full driving range. The course was in pristine condition and presented a lot of challenges or choices on how you could play each hole. The rolling wheat hills were beautiful and separated each hole so that you really can't see another fairway from your current hole. The par 3s were very long but had stunning downhill views (200 yards from the white tees). Greens weren't rolling very fast when I played it, which was fine with me but some of the greens weren’t in the best of shape if I had any complaint at all. Also practice green was closed. Got to see a moose and a calf walk across the 10th fairway which was special. Played here twice and both rounds were under 4 hours which was pleasing. Pro shop had a pretty big selection of goods and the staff was nice. If you are ever in this part of the country this course is a MUST play. Especially for the price, this course is way better than Coeur d'Alene resort course (circling raven is less than half the price of CDA resort). Come check it out you will not be...
Read morePlayed on 4/14/2025. Weather and course conditions were absolutely spectacular, and we pretty much had the place to ourselves — which was a real treat. My only real gripe was the cart path only rule. The course was nearly bone dry, so it felt unnecessary and honestly a bit frustrating.
I came in with high expectations since this course is often touted as the best in Idaho. And while it’s definitely a very good course, I wouldn’t say it completely lived up to the hype — at least not in the way I imagined. It’s well-maintained, with a fair layout: short holes tend to be tighter, while long holes open up nicely. Greens rolled true and had a good amount of slope — challenging but never ridiculous.
That said, I was hoping for more of a mountain-style course, with dramatic elevation and timber-lined fairways. There’s a few holes like that, but overall, it’s closer to a rolling meadows type layout I’d say (maybe that’s dramatic). There’s some elevation change, but nothing jaw-dropping imo. Overall, a solid experience, just not quite the mountain golf vibe I had pictured for...
Read moreMy perspective on Circling Raven will probably be a bit different than most posts, as Kim and I were the 'ride alongs' on the boys golf day! We do this regularly on vacations and have seen many beautiful courses, HECK we live on a golf course with views. ALL staff were very friendly, welcoming, helpful and displayed a sense of humor which was a much appreciated added bonus. Circling Raven itself was a cut above most courses and absolutely breathtaking, every single hole. The way they have married the course to the natural beauty surrounding and throughout the course is exceptional and you never know what you'll see around the next bend or over the next hill. The added beauty of aged wooden bridges, old train tracks, tunnels, blooming crop fields, native wildlife (and on OUR day, those huge fluffy clouds) make this a course we'll be more than happy to crash on any future trips as well. Oh... and least I forget, the boys said the course was in top condition, challenging and made for some hilariously colorful self commentary along the way. Wonderful...
