6.2.25 updated review: when we walked up, we were greeted and sat immediately and asked if we already knew what we wanted to drink and we did. I'm still not eating meat and as I was scanning the menu, the Beauty burger caught my eye and surprised I haven't noticed it before. As described on the menu, the Beauty is "Coeur D'Alene Casino's famous grilled black bean burger, topped with pico de gallo, cotija cheese, and cilantro lime crema on a potato bun." For my side, I went with my go-to of tater tots. My friend ordered his usual, chimichanga with queso.
The Beauty arrived hot and visually looked pretty good for being a burger made of black beans. One bite in and I knew I liked it. The black bean "patty" was grilled really well and had some nice char to it, making the outside slightly crisped. The black bean taste itself was great and not over seasoned. I actually could taste black beans. The pico and cotija cheese tied it together giving it that fresh flavor combo to balance out the beans. My tater tots were cooked to perfection and had that extra crunch that I prefer. My friend usually takes half of his chimichanga home b
1.16.25: After the Elvis concert show, we went to the Red Tail for dessert. I ordered the Blue-Huckleberry Crisp again and my friend got the Brownie Sundae.
The Blue-Huckleberry Crisp came out piping hot with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream topping. It was pretty sweet, kinda heavy, but really delicious. I like it because it's always consistent and it has good filling-ratio. As the cold ice cream started to melt, it made each bite better and better! My friend's Brownie Sundae was massive and arrived with three scoops of vanilla ice cream, a huge warm square of brownie, a mountain of whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and of course a cherry on top. This can easily be shared between 2-3 people. My friend got a strawberry smoothie too and was really happy with it and said he'll definitely order it again.
Service was good, no complaints. Ambience wasn't as busy as I thought it would be since the concert just let out, but we beat the rush. As we were leaving I noticed a lot more tables occupied.
2.5.24: Just returned home from being away for a month and wanted to grab a bite to eat. The ambience was great as it wasn't busy and it was quiet. Our server, Shirley, was nice and attentive. I ordered a chip of beef stew and a chicken pesto salad, both were pretty good and hit the spot. The beef stew was meaty, flavorful, and had potatoes, carrots, and celery. The pesto chicken salad was crisp and I liked how the pesto dressing wasn't too thick or heavy nor overwhelming in taste like some pesto can be. It was the perfect welcome home lunch.
1.1.24: We wanted to have New Year breakfast and my friend suggested we try the casino restaurant and said it's pretty good. I was surprised there was no wait to be seated being it was a holiday. It was my first time in and the ambience was cozy as we were seated near the fireplace.
I ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy with over medium eggs and hash browns. Usually I request to have my hash browns extra crispy but I forgot. When my food arrived, to my surprise my hash browns were cooked perfectly and had that good crispiness on the outside and soft potato inside. My eggs were made like asked and enjoyed how they weren't too runny. As for the biscuits and gravy, the biscuit used is really yummy--not dense or doughy but more light and airy. The gravy was thick and the season had a good pepper flavor. My friend ordered the Denver omelette, but with bacon instead of traditional ham and cheesy hash browns with a side of gravy. His omelette was huge and meaty--I did try it myself and it was pretty tasty. Since it was New Year's Day we had mimosas as a cheers to the new year.
Our server, Geoff, was great and friendly, but sometimes slow, however that didn't affect our visit. I think he was given a large section of the restaurant to handle. My friend told me about an All-You-Can-Eat breakfast bar here on the weekends that I want to come...
Read moreWent there yesterday, our first time & the lady said it would be about a 20 minute wait which turned into 35-40 minutes, while waiting there were quite a few empty tables so I asked about it & she said there were other people ahead of us (4 others), but then we finally got seated at one of those same empty tables & only one small group was seated before us, then I got the Indian taco which I was not able to eat because it was so thick (the dough) & over cooked so our waitress asked if something was wrong with it & I told her it wasn't very good, but it was no problem so she asked did I want something else & she took that off the bill anyway, our waitress was great & friendly & came back many times to see if we needed anything and to refill drinks......I rated the food low, but service got 4 stars because of the...
Read moreI’ve dined here about a dozen times. Positives- Franks omelet bar is very good. I really like the banter between the chefs and the omelets are delicious! The buffet side is fine; but I don’t expect much from buffet style breakfasts. -Drink menu: wide variety, not crazy expensive. -Fry Bread: The main reason I keep trying to like this place.
Negatives- Dinner entrees- I have yet to have a good one. The steak was extremely bland. The tacos were cold. The burger was bland and wet. Like a soggy bun and a puddle of grease. Servers- I really felt the turn and burn mentality here. Each time I come in by myself; I feel like I’m rushed out the door.
For what it’s worth; spend a bit more and walk across the resort to Chinook. The food is seasoned and the servers allow you to dine at your own pace. (The...
