I thought this was a good place when I was purchasing produce during my first visit. There were some 25 stalls run by what appeared to be the people who may have actually farmed the produce. Amongst a variety of other vegetables, I also purchased a case of mangos and a ten lb bag of oranges.
When I got home I discovered some 8 out of ten mangos were bad and not salvagable. The other two were marginal. The oranges were mostly dried out inside - very little juice. The giant Italian squash was essentially tasteless. The honeydue melons were decent, as were some sweet potatoes. As I purchased produce from a several different stalls, it is hard to say if the bad produce came from just certain vendors versus the majority that were there.
If I do go back again, I will be much more cautious and request cut open samples of ANY produce before purchasing. During my first visit I didn't think it was necessary given it looked like the produce came right off the field. I am much more skeptical now.
I do suggest stopping by the mexican "restaurant" across the street from the Western Apparel store only a block or so down the main street from the farmer's market. The pork taco I had there was better than any I've tasted in 70 years. However, go doing the lunch hour as the meat was more dried out when I went at 2 pm several days later. It will be my go to place to eat when I am...

2 stars for the following:
3 Stars Broker load pick up (lack of complete information that wasted 40 mins trying to find correct building to checkin) 1 Star Scale house. Short, caucasian, blonde-headed woman was rude & prejudice. 1 Star Loading. Loading location was not on property, it was 13 miles out of town. After getting loaded, re-weighing is done back in Immokalee. I was almost an even 1,000 lbs over 80k. Loading shed loaded too many bins. 2 Stars Rectifying error. Broker had me wait on location instead of having me return to the middle of now where, so bins were removed in Immokalee which saved me another 26 mile trip.
*There are no restrooms available to drivers anywhere on property.

Read moreOne of the worst places to get loaded. You will arrive at the main yard. If you arrive at 12pm then tough luck because the shipping officer has gone out for a 1hr lunch. She will come past 1.5hrs though it says 1hr. Next, you will be asked to go to a yard that is 13 miles away from the main yard. They will load you in a yard and directions will be given on a paper. It is difficult to follow the directions on the sheet of paper that they provide. The road is narrow and difficult to drive on. Sadly the address doesn't appear on Google Maps. It has been 5hrs for me. I have finally docked but I don't know when I will be loaded. Please avoid this place...
