I came to Creekside at Meridian Hills in 2017 when it was The Viewpoint. I was there just shy of three years. I watched it grow and develop under new ownership. Maintenance: When I first moved in, I'm pretty sure MJ was the ONLY maintenance man. As you can imagine, maintenance was horrible. There's no way one man can answer all those calls. As Radco took over, maintenance improved. Instead of having just this one guy get to me possibly months after I made my initial request, I'd get a response within days or hours depending on the situation. It took maybe 3 days after my request to get my a/c fixed in the sweltering heat in Summer 2019.
Management: Management has improved over time. Carolina was a sleaze ball. I'm pretty sure she was stealing money orders. I paid December 2017 THREE TIMES! I never got a credit for that. I lost my tickets. So it was my loss. She was terrible. She was fired. Natasha replaced her. Natasha was understanding and able to work with you. All you had to do was talk to her and things would get done. Unfortunately, Carolina left a huge mess Natasha could clean. They did away with her. Nate was willing to work with you IF and only IF you could provide documentation for your requests. I had to prove my MIL died. I had to prove I was in a bad situation. He wanted documentation for absolutely everything. He was VERY BAD at communication. While he wanted documentation from you for absolutely everything. He wasn't filing your documentation so when he left you were screwed. Jordan is very understanding. She's reasonable. She'll listen to you. She makes things happen. She works for you. Don't ever do her wrong. She's also SUPER GREAT with kids. Every time I brought my kids in the office she was playing with them, giving them candy or popsicles, toys, etc . . . They wanted to go to the office just to see her.
Leasing: Chris is great! He's very sweet. He'll do what he can. The foreign guy, I didn't catch his name but in the 3yrs I was there I have never met someone so rude and nasty. He helped me once with my children, but not for me. He helped me because he was tired of them screaming because we waited forever in the office one day to see Nate who was too busy to see us. Chris was kind and helped us instead.
Neighbors: The neighborhood has changed over the years. It started out really violent with a lot of crime. Radco installed cameras and lighting. They hired overnight security to watch the grounds. Crime went down. While basic crime went down, I watched several of my neighbors move in and out due to domestic violence. A lot of it goes on. So, if you move here just watch out for your neighbor. She may need help. There are A LOT of kids. Mostly teens and tots. If you don't like kids, don't move here. There are also a lot of animals. Many have been snuck in. STAY OFF THE GRASS UNLESS YOU WANT POOP ON YOUR SHOES!!!!
Grounds: Beautiful landscape. A Brand new playground replaced the old graffiti stricken, partially melted playground. A Bark Park was put in. A fitness center was in the works. A soccer field replaced the old torn up tennis court. The land where they played soccer before the court became a volley ball court. There are a lot of improvements there. Also, it's by the woods. You have to watch out for wild life. One night I was taking out the trash and a Trash Panda (raccoon) jumped out at me. I was terrified. Another time, I was walking home from work and buck darted first toward me, then thankfully away from me. MOSQUITO HELL. Wasps, haven. The wasps love the wood. They're everywhere!
Apartment: I can't say too much on the apartment itself. I moved in as an urgent move in. My place was a quick repair plaster job. Terrible. But again, under the old company. It was never remodeled by Radco They did give me the option but it would cost too much. It was basically falling apart from where a previous tenant beat holes everywhere.
Laundry: There is a laundry center on site. It's almost ALWAYS GROSS. It's expensive. Go To JUMP LAUNDRY on 71st & Michigan...
Read moreThis went from being one of the best places I have lived to the worst REAL FAST. After dating one of the maintenance men, I learned that 1. They get paid based on the amount of work orders completed, so they would mark an order complete even though they have never actually been to the unit. Which has happened to me at least twice. 2. They wrongfully evict tenants and force them out quickly, forcing the tenant to leave items behind they normally wouldn't. Then maintenance and office staff would enter the unit to go "shopping". I didn't believe it until I seen it for myself. 3. Shortly after AION had taken over, an email was sent stating locks would be changed, but they never specified which units would be done or at what moment, leaving people to be locked out of their homes with no way of obtaining a key until the next business day when the office was open. Had my neighbor not called me to tell me they were in my apartment and to come home, I would have been locked out of my own apartment. 4. There were CONSTANT billing issues, saying I owed money I didn't actually owe. I had to show stubs of all my money order payments to prove I didn't owe, then they stopped accepting money orders, forcing to use their Portal that not only was faulty, but you were charged for using it and they would also block you from using the portal, preventing the ability to make a payment unless it was a cashier's check from a bank. 5. I had to report them to the Attorney General to get any type of action from them. 6. You are charged pest control but they do not do any treatments, I was charged for trash services that I NEVER USED since my front door was maybe 20ft from the dumpster, and I was being charged for renters insurance that ONLY covered THEIR property, refusing to waive the fee since my own renters insurance covered my property AND theirs. The previous owner just asked for proof of my insurance and they waived the fee, AION however said there was no way to prove I had the insurance. 7. Front office is NEVER the same people. 8. Most days, the front office was locked to the public, but directedus to call, which was to like call center kind of situation and they never effectively communicated with you or between themselves. 9. Parking is horrible and I've seen MANY vehicles towed from the lot DAILY. Trust me, I can list MUCH MORE but my fingers don't have the energy. These apartments both North/South are good for people in DESPERATE situations as they will accept anyone willing to pay the rent. Just know, you get what you pay for takes on an ENTIRELY NEW...
Read moreIf I could rate zero stars I would. My friend Lived here for 3 weeks and his lease was terminated because the office staff felt “threatened” by him. Nevermind the fact that he did not threaten anyone and that he would’ve never had to even come to the office if they had answered their phones, emails or checked their voice mails. Very unprofessional and they talk to people very rude. Reached out to corporate but this property either needs completely need office staff or to be shut down! How do you terminate a lease when no one threatened you? What was said by friend that they think is so threatening is if he didn’t get a response via email (which he didn’t get any of the previous times he reached out) that he would come back to the office to speak with someone again. Not sure how that’s a threat. This is probably all because they told him they would give him credit toward rent and then tried to back out of it! Honor what you say and answer the phones and people wouldn’t have to come to the office at all. My friend was polite, told the gentleman “you are just the man I need to speak with” if you felt that threatened why not call the police? Terminated his lease and kept his deposit and still said they needed two months of rent. In what world did that make any sense? Corporate is looking into this matter for my friend. I cannot believe I had to step in and assist him because he’s never experienced unprofessionalism to this degree in his life. Not to mention that he was told his unit was renovated yet he still was the only unit in his area with carpet…how is that renovated? The sliding glass door didn’t slide, there was no fire extinguisher, plus many other things, a big thing was that the chain on the door was too short to even feel completely safe. He was told that they needed to build cabinets over his fridge and that never happened. To top it all off they have more than one number to call. They don’t return calls, emails, or anything and if you go to the office they’ll say you threatened them and cussed them out only so they can terminate your lease. Sleep in your car before you rent from this property! Do better. And don’t give me that automatic response stating how sorry you are that I’m unsatisfied, just do better. Get a better staff that are not rude. And figure out a way for residents to not have to pay for their own mailboxes.
EDIT: no thank u, he has tried contacting u for over a week and no one wants to answer or discuss anything. Don’t try to act like y’all care cus if u did u would’ve answered any of the numerous emails...
