My friend has been talking about this place for ages. So I finally decided to stop by after work.It is little hidden and hard to see on the road. The area looks deserted so there is plenty space to park your car. They have a "Now open" banner at the window, as if this place just opened. They have a very modest decor, and the restaurant is clean well ventilated. You can also dine in if you wish. I ordered their oxtails and a beef patty. The oxtail was ok, I was slightly disappointed by it, but it is better from the one I had at Jallo's on 38th. And let me tell you the meat pie was excellent. I will give them another chance and this time I will get the jerk chicken as recommended by my friend. So stay tuned. Update: I tried their jerk wings, goat, and jerk ribs. They didn't live up to my expectations. They are OK. They are good but not exceptional. The chickens and ribs were dried and not spicy hot even though I asked for their hot sauce. Not sure if she forgot or not.

I've been looking forward to trying this place for quite some time, everytime that I have gone they would either be closed or have an outrageous wait time. I finally placed an order for oxtails, I have been tearing down the city to find a place with the best, oxtails. I've tried Da Blue lagoon, Jamaican breeze, Jiallo's and Yaso. I'm tired and very disappointed, as you can see in the photos for this $25 oxtail carryout, the size of the oxtails we're inconsistent. Why are you playing with me for this price (see photo) that is literally a bone, and it should have never made his way to my container. The rice peas and cabbage were all bland, and the cabbage almost non existent, rice and peas were plenty, PLENTY bland. Let me not forget to add that the plantains, clearly was made on another day, not fresh at all and notably reheated, Another disappointment. Not photo is beef patties, you had one you had them all, it was good and spicy.

You just don’t. You just don’t understand. How could that be better than Yasos. How. Yasos was amazing but this. This was authentic. This was a family from Jamaica vibe like they invited me over to cook for me. The real taste of Jamaica. This was perfection. The mild sauce I could have drank in a mason jar. It was vinegary and packed with flavor and the rice soaked it up. The cabbage was cooked in a flavorful broth and it was tender but perfect. The chicken no joke fell off the bone. I never had to use my hands cuz the plastic spoon pulled it off the bone with no effort. The skin was crunchy and lightly Smokey and packed with flavor. Don’t get me started with That homemade Jamaican patty. It was huge and filled to the max with moist perfection. Slightly spicy but lightly. It had the most perfect seasoning.

I’m not sure what other people were referring to as far as wait time and service but my experience was 10/10!! I walked in and there was no long line, I was greeted by the cashier (Terri is what my receipt says) and even when I mentioned it being my first time and asked for suggestions, she didn’t get irritated and helped me make a quick decision. I got the jerk chicken/rib combo with bbq sauce on the side and it took about 5 minutes for them to prepare it for me and send me on my way. When I got home I was soooo elated by the look of the food but that first bite? Amazinggggg! I loved everything. The seasoning from the meat went perfectly with the cabbage and rice and peas. I even got gravy (oxtail juice) on my rice and peas and it was sooo good. I’m literally on a high after that meal and still have left overs for tomorrow! This was delicious, thank y’all for the great service and the delicious food. I couldn’t be more happy with my choice to dine with you all...
