Soldier Hollow Golf Course in Midway, Utah, is a gem nestled in the picturesque Heber Valley, offering two distinct 18-hole courses that cater to golfers of all skill levels. My recent visit to Soldier Hollow was a fantastic experience, combining challenging play with breathtaking mountain scenery.
The courses, known as the Gold and the Silver, each provide a unique golfing experience. The Gold Course is the more challenging of the two, with its longer layout and strategically placed hazards requiring precise shot-making and strategic thinking. The Silver Course, while slightly shorter, is no less enjoyable, offering a more forgiving layout but still demanding accurate play.
Both courses are meticulously maintained, with lush fairways and smooth, fast greens that offer true rolls. The natural terrain and elevation changes add to the challenge and beauty of the courses, making every round an adventure. The backdrop of the Wasatch Mountains provides stunning views that enhance the overall experience, especially in the early morning or late afternoon when the light is particularly striking.
The facilities at Soldier Hollow are top-notch, with a well-equipped pro shop and excellent practice areas, including a driving range, putting greens, and chipping areas. The staff is friendly and professional, ensuring that every aspect of your visit is enjoyable.
What sets Soldier Hollow apart is its connection to nature and the serene, tranquil atmosphere. The courses are integrated seamlessly into the landscape, providing a sense of peace and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
In summary, Soldier Hollow Golf Course is a must-visit for any golf enthusiast. Whether you’re looking for a challenging round or a relaxing day surrounded by nature, Soldier Hollow delivers on all fronts. I highly recommend experiencing these beautiful courses...
Read moreGold course This links style course is clearly designed with firm conditions in mind. The shape of the fairways and mounding allows for creativity with tee shots and second shots into par 5's. Unfortunately, the course is usually very wet meaning no utilizing those slopes. Even if there's a good reason for watering the course to such a degree it detracts from the character of the course. Aside from it being too soft the conditions here are very good. I would recommend the course to pretty much anyone. The reason for the three stars, including the previously mentioned, poor quality golf carts, lack of drinking water, and the grill. The carts here are gas and the exhaust is terrible. You're out on this beautiful piece of property sucking in fumes every time the cart in front of you takes off. There is one opportunity per nine to get water from a kind of dirty looking water fountain. If you fill up one bottle it lasts maybe two holes before you're needing more. I brought water the next two times out but without coolers on the cart the extra water gets really warm. The grill does an average job w their food quality but there isn't a healthy option on the menu of any sustenance. If this place cleaned up the little things it would be a much more...
Read moreI went here to go tubing on the snow. It was very poorly run because my friend and I went on a lane that was only meant for single Riders, because nobody told us we were going on the wrong lane. We didn't think we were doing anything wrong so we excitedly got on and started to go down. We started to get nervous when we got going about 15 mph. We ended the lane but didn't slow down, went through the walking area and through the plastic orange fence at the end zone. We got thrown off of our tube down a rocky hill. I stopped sliding about halfway down almost into the parking lot. I was very shocked and in lots of pain because I had been bashed up pretty good and my neck had been tweaked a little bit. The teenage worker tried to tell us that we were at fault and we were in the wrong. He argued with me and talked back. After we had this experience, we went back up to the top of the lanes to find that they had to shut down the lanes for 20 minutes so that they could quickly put up signs and lines to direct people to the correct lane. We were not happy. I feel lucky to be alive. On the bright side, the management at the desk inside were very nice about the situation. They listened to me and helped me feel cared about so this one star...
