Fareway Meat and Grocery — Local services in Iowa City

For the most part the staff are friendly and the service is good. Except in the evening when most of the management must not be there. Every time I go in the morning or afternoon the meat staff seems helpful and friendly. But in the evening the stuff is usually younger and several times I can’t even get help. Tonight was the last time. I was there waiting to buy some ham and watched as two of the three cleaned and the third helped everyone but me. And no there wasn’t many people waiting. I waited and watched as he helped new customers walking up the the meat counter instead of helping me as I waited. I gave up put me groceries back and just bought some prepackaged ham the only thing I really needed. The only things I can say I struggle with is all together finding my way in this store. It could very well be me, but I find myself walking around searching for something almost every time. Staff is nice otherwise. Maybe even too nice. I particularly do not like all the bagging and walking me to the car. I'm sure other people will appreciate it, not me. I also think they should let customers push their cart to their car on their own and unload groceries. I have no desire to steal a cart, I really don't. I went with my son to buy Powerball ticket. Asked for assistance since it was our first time to play.The lady was visibly frustrated with my queries and errors. She tried pushing a quick computer generated ticket which I didn't want adding to her frustration. I asked for further assistance and a nice lady tried helping. When I finalized following the instructions they gave me and got an error she kinda lost it. I just left the store. Wish she had just told me to read the instructions at the back of the ticket saving both of us undue frustration.Please familiarize with what you sell for better...
