My company scheduled a Murder Mystery party via Zoom for a fun after-hours event, and it was great! Our "Detective," Sara, was phenomenal, and her energy helped us all to get out of work mode and into the game. She kept us on-time but nothing felt rushed. We even had to make some last-minute changes that she was able to quickly adjust to and roll with. I was curious how the online aspect would work but honestly I think it is a perfect format! They've really developed a good set up. If going virtual I recommend using dual monitors if you have that option, as you can watch the party's reactions as you get clues. For the whole playthrough it took about two hours, but the time went by fast! It's a fantastic socially-distanced experience. My grandmother's 90th is coming up and I'd like to see if my family across the country would be interested in a Zoom Murder Mystery party! Now they just need to capitalize on the popularity of Among Us and Unfortunate Spacemen and create a sci-fi storyline! (I'd be happy to assist in...
Read moreI really wanted to love this experience. My husband and I thought it would be a fun date night. It wasn't bad. It wasn't great. Unfortunately, the person who seated us sat us with a family of 8. That felt strange. They were all clearly there to be with one another. We were the extra people at the table and they didn't really want to interact with us. And there wasn't anyone to speak to about moving tables. The food wasn't very good. It actually reminded me of what you get in a Marie Callendar's frozen meal. There were a pair of vegans who were told they could at least get a vegetarian meal. The person running the buffet pointed at the corn and the green beans and told them that was what they had for vegans. The actors were great and kept things going. I probably wouldn't use this company again. And if I did, I'd either go with a group or ask to not be seated...
Read moreThe actors were very high energy and fun but overall the whole evening felt incredibly rushed. We were sat with our backs to the stage with a group of 6 that was just awkward. Would have made more sense to put us with other couples. The salad was embarrassingly wilted...I would have sent back anywhere else. The buffet was good...chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, etc. No servers after buffet so had to get our own refill.
My biggest challenge was the pace...not enough time to question each suspect, think or breathe. It was just go, go, go! The storyline was missing a big plot connection between two main characters. I assume if I could have questioned this character, I could have determined but some hint of it should have been said on mic since there simply was not enough time to question everyone. 2.5...
