Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church — Local services in Irwindale

I am partial to this parish. My sister got married here, my kids, nephews, and nice did their first communion and confirmation here and it happens to be walking distance from from my parents home. Having said that, what is most important is that this is the a House of God and like all parishes, the parishioners are the people that make this a beautiful church (parish). Within the relatively small city of Irwindale, California, it attract people from nearby and far away cities. Last year, the parish celebrated 50 years since the Archdiocese of Los Angeles distinguished her as an independent parish, and the new church built and dedicated on March 22, 2009 celebrated it's 5th anniversary. We baptized our son at this church (Spanish service) before the actually baptism ceremony we attended one class and the instructor kept on repeating that if we didn’t know our prayers and if we didn’t raise our voices at the ceremony the priest would get “upset” I found that to be odd. The day of the baptism the Priest started off the service talking about the 15ñera service that he had serviced right before us and stated “she doesn’t even know why she is here all that girl is thinking about is her party and that horse carriage outside” I was shocked. Once the ceremony was over he just waved his hand and said “ya vallanse” We didn’t even get a thank you for attending the mass has ended. Do not go here! Rude and...

It is incredible to get the response I received yesterday and today. I have serious problems feeding myself and other needs. I came by to the church looking to speak to a priest. They told me none were able. I called the next day asking talk to a priest. They told me none were available. They asked what's this about. When you need to talk to a priest, isn't always something that you can disclose to a neighbor or a person in the streets... this place apparently is being run like a business forgetting what a church is supposed to be to a community
