Dollar General — Local services in Island Lake

So I went in and bought a couple things today. I really shouldn't have and never will again. The price on one item rang up slightly higher than marked, but not worth the hassle getting someone to fix it(self checkout only). Then I left the store after paying and an employee walked out and accused me of stealing. Her name was Vicky. Apparently if she isn't watching the checkout area then you must have stolen something. Not very pleasant being accused of something like that in the town I call home. Also(this is the village's fault), the location for this store is ridiculous. You have to enter the subdivision to get into the parking lot. How was this approved ever?! It's a "discount" store that always looks lowbrow(the prices aren't even good). The village should be ashamed. Close this place down. It's not even close...

They have one self check out that is almost always down. My first time there I got batteries in the self check out. The register said approved then froze, so I left with my bag. The manager chased me and my husband down in the parking lot and said the batteries weren't paid for and Charged us again. We were charged twice. I've Been back a few times since and it's hit or miss. If you aren't lucky enough for someone to be close to the front end you'll probably be SOL. Just left with my stuff at the register today because the price was wrong an an item and no one ever came when I pressed the help button and there was a line...

It makes me so sad that they would put a Dollar General in front of our subdivision. I’ve never seen a Dollar General or a dollar store in front of townhomes or any homes. They are usually in strip malls. I’m embarrassed to say I live here. Look up Dollar General and you can read some pretty awful things about the company. I used to like living in a small town but after they built this Dollar General building it in front of our townhomes to me it’s an eyesore. Watch what you buy there.
