SHOPPER BEWARE! Rude business owner. (I edited my edit so people could get the TL;DR. Wouldn’t want that getting lost)
Edit: owner states my side business is yugioh which is incredibly funny. 1. Shouldn’t matter, sell me the product for the same price that you sell to everyone else, and 2. I sell strictly Weiss and Lycee, you don’t sell either one. Which btw is my FULL time business. I just enjoy collecting yugioh & supporting local shops in the process. Spoilers, this no longer includes you. I guess to him you can’t enjoy cards and also sell them or support other people in the community? Because the card community is a COMMUNITY. It’s based around a likeminded interest and love of the game or collection. Not about greed my friend. I shouldn’t be surprised. This coming from the man that says he doesn’t carry Weiss because the players don’t spend enough. But this attitude does clear up why we were treated so poorly in our subsequent visits. So thanks for clearing that up.
So firstly, let me say the first time I went here I was actually impressed by how nice the young man was that helped us. This was one of the first card shops I’d visited in the area since moving to FL. It did take a while for us to get service, but once acknowledged everything went well. My boyfriend and I asked to see singles and spent probably 2 hours having fun going through them, buying a pretty decent sized stack as well as a couple of displays of other product. Spent about $500 or so. This was going to be my go to store, hands down. I was excited. We went back a week later and were immediately informed by the owner that the singles were no longer on site. That’s fine, we were planning on picking up a couple of displays of my new fave card set to rip. We also were looking at some other stuff in the shop. That was before the owner started blatantly lying about “lowest prices” of his inventory found online. For instance he mentioned a pair of shoes was lowest price $500 online. I couldn’t even find that price on stock x (what he cited) or elsewhere, they go for $160 deadstock all day. As if not everyone has a phone where they can check this kind of thing. It truly seemed like they didn’t want to sell us anything and were trying to make the prices so ridiculous we would just leave. It was a very icky feeling. I have since been in every single card shop in Jax and honestly I would recommend absolutely any of them over this shop. It’s disorganized, overpriced and the owner is incredibly rude. 100% read the reviews on this place before you go. The owner will just chalk this review up to “competition” or something stupid, like all his other replies on bad reviews. If that’s true you have a hell of a lot of competition my friend. No wonder you’ve had to downsize your space (you mentioned that you used to have space for tournaments at your old location) not hard to put two and...
Read moreIf you’re looking for overpriced Pokémon cards, look no further than Dick and Jane’s. While Facebook Marketplace scalpers might mark up prices, at least they aren’t running a full-fledged business dedicated to squeezing every last dollar out of the hobby. Somehow, buying from individual scalpers on Marketplace still ends up being the cheaper option.
Dick and Jane’s operates like a well-oiled machine, snatching up stock before casual collectors even get a chance. Then, they turn around and list those same products at absurd prices. Need a box of the latest set? Be prepared to pay double—or triple—what you’d pay at a major retailer.
The worst part? They’re not just targeting rare cards or collector’s items. Even standard booster packs and ETBs get the “scalper tax.” Meanwhile, Facebook Marketplace scalpers might still hike prices, but at least they don’t have overhead and payroll to justify even higher markups.
Bottom line: If you’re after Pokémon cards and want the best deal, avoid Dick and Jane’s. You’re better off negotiating with an individual seller than feeding a business that thrives on keeping prices artificially high.

It’s understandable that running a business comes with costs, but let’s be real—adding $10-20 per item consistently is scalping when the retail price is already set. If distributors are charging you more, that’s an internal issue, not the fault of the customers. Saying “the market is high” doesn’t change the fact that your prices are inflated beyond what many collectors can reasonably afford.
As for pricing based on TCGPlayer, that’s a secondary market platform where prices are dictated by resellers—so using that as a benchmark essentially justifies continued markups rather than fair pricing. Other local game stores manage to sell at reasonable prices while still paying employees and supporting communities, so that argument doesn’t hold much weight.
No one is saying businesses shouldn’t make a profit, but when your store becomes known for pricing out collectors in favor of resellers and flippers, people will speak up. If pricing is truly fair, there shouldn’t be a constant wave...
Read moreStarted going here about 2 years ago and the shop was alright, had some cool cards and nice product so i kept coming back. Would occasionally sell cards and stuff which was great.
recently the card shop has been getting more greedy and shady with the things they do. On multiple occasions I have been met with a bait and switch tactic where they tell you a price they will pay and agree on a deal only for a different staff member to come and tell you that price won’t work.
I was up there a few days ago and shook on a deal with a staff member for a card and another staff member came up and said they would have to pay $40 less even tho the other guy agreed and was about to cash me out. Would not recommend doing business with this store. They participate in fraudulent activities and are just overall not great people
Not to mention the staff members constantly give lectures saying “we have to pay this and that and oh by the way card shops used to only give you 10% of the card value”
note: they also offer what are already low prices, another shop near by offered me 80% of the card value cash as opposed to the 60% that dick and jane’s offered.
Edit-response:
That’s cool and all but there was still a deal made, the “high school intern” shook on the deal so maybe next time tell him not to shake on stuff if u guys do not have the capabilities to actually go through with the deal. 100% a bait and switch scam which you didn’t address 🤪🤪🤪
Edit 2:
You can say “you knew he couldn’t make final decisions” and whatever else but all that i’m gonna say is on 2 occasions I had shaken on deals that fell through because of will not liking it. No one had informed me the high school intern was unable to finalize the deal as he shook on it. that also doesn’t address the fact that everyone there is still rude, look at all the other 1 star reviews, everyone saying the exact same thing.
TLDR: staff all sucks besides colton wouldn’t recommend...
