Absolutely disgusted. Dealt with Harold before in the transition of ownership. Took my husband’s chain that was gifted by his dad years ago to have a jump ring replaced. Simple fix, right? Should have been, but I guess it was more complicated than expected.
When I arrived to pick up the chain, I was handed a super flimsy low quality chain in return. I told Harold that this was not my husband’s chain and he proceeded to question me as if I haven’t seen the same chain around my husbands neck for the past 7 years. In a panic he asked me to come back while he looked for it. Panic set in of course.
I later received a phone call stating that he had found it and “gave it to another customer” and was “waiting for them to bring it back.” When I arrived to pick it up I noticed it felt still flimsier than my husbands chain but he reassured me that it was his. On top of all this and waiting for him to find it, he took a look and realized the jump ring still was not fixed and asked me to come back now once again.
After finally getting it back, I thought it was over but boy was I wrong. We always thought the chain was different but just blew it off because Harold reassured us. We never thought someone could treat something that was so precious to us with such lack of respect. We were played and are heartbroken.
Here we are a year later looking back at photos to only realize that we were for sure not given back the same chain at all and who knows where it actually is. My husband’s gift that he’s had for several year from his father will never be the same all over what was supposed to be a simple repair. Also noticed that my husband’s original chain was a 14k and he was given back a 10k.
Photos have been attached for reference. First two photos are from the original chain and the original length of the chain. The chain that we received in return is clearly different lengths and thickness. The chain we are referring to is in the last photo and has the cross...
Read moreI’m a watch person and every watch I had was battery dead and though I live very nearby,I had never been to Jamestown Jewelers. On my first visit I brought 4 watches. One needed just a battery, another needed a watch band and battery, the third needed a fairly new watch band removed from a damaged watch, and the fourth needed a repair quote. Everything except the quote was taken care of within 15-20 min at a very fair rate. I received a quote the following week and that watch is now being worked on. Overall, I have been very pleased with their service and how nice...
