We travel from Mississippi to Houston quite often. This place is not the best gas station/truck stop we stop at (that's Buc-ee's), but it is about half way and we always stop here.

It's always reasonably clean. The bathrooms are big enough to handle crowds and are pretty clean as well. The staff is always friendly. And the gas prices are always pretty good, if not the absolute cheapest.

Every few trips we eat at the attached restaurant and the food is good and the wait staff are kind. Last time we got the steak salad and it was surprisingly good and quite big.

Depending on the time of day/time of year it can get quite crowded and the parking lot and gas pumps can be a bit of a pain. But that's more the fault of bad/inconsiderate drivers than the truck stop.

All in all we will continue to make this our midway stop on our treks. There are better gas stations out there, but most are much worse!

At 1945 there's lots and lots of parking on a Sunday night. I can't believe I've never discovered this jewel before now. I've seen some of the bad reviews and really just wonder who raised some of you snowflakes.... but seriously, anyone can have a bad day. Bottom line is that there's really nothing to whine about here. As a suggestion, a few trash cans in the parking lot might be a good idea though.

The food was awesome. My wife and I shared an appetizer of alligator bites and a steak & shrimp (grilled) dinner with onion rings. Everything was great and the service was above and beyond what was expected. Will be a regular stop...

I stopped here looking for postcards. Workers at several places in town told me this place had postcards. It did not.

The souvenir section of the store seemed to be selling mostly Christian themed items. I saw very few normal souvenir type items. There store did have a wide variety of snacks.

When I walked up to the counter to inquire about postcard availability, one worker had her back to the customer area. The other was deeply engaged in worker conversation and did not look my way. I had to interrupt to ask my question.

Store looked clean and was quite busy.

For a small truck stop this place offers a lot and all. For cars and big rigs. Has scales, sit down restaurant, always available parking any time of day or night. Casino, food too go, lottery, cigarettes and cigars, walk in beer cave cooler, on site liquor store. Walmart across the street, Walgreens and motel and Chinese restaurant all 1 minute walk away. Taco bell, Wendy's, waffle house, Popeyes and a McDonald's 30 second walk. Also a urgent care outpatient facility 1 minute away. I always enjoy stopping here.

Great travel center. All company employees are pleasant and concerned about patrons. The restaurant attached to the travel center and gift shop is a mainstay. Great cooks great ambience, and great people. I've eaten at a lot of truck/travel centers and this one is above average ..for home cooking and fried foods, Cajun prize to say the least. Go in and get it, it's worth more than words can say.
