japanese food is most often beautiful & tasty, but often rather expensive & typically with small portions. the food at tokyo japan in jennings was beautiful, beautifully presented & very tasty & i could not finish what i ordered. brought home the tokyo salad untouched. i ordered some odds & ends off the usual beaten path for japanese food for lunch: house tokyo soup (astoundingly spicy & tasty if not a little salty with little surprise bits of carmelized onions--little flavor bombs), onion petals (actually they were tempura onions--enough for 2 or 3 people), seaweed salad--much better than chinese buffet style, & the tokyo salad, also a couple of kirin beers ($3 each--unbelievably good price). the wait staff were very attentive & very nice. service was faster than i needed. the place is quiet & dark (very intimate). i sat facing the aquarium...very relaxing lunch break. the reckoning was $33 & i have the untouched salad for lunch tomorrow. i will definitely return & the next time i will know to expect generous portion &...

wow. i really like this place. i usually order alacarte appetizers & sides. never am i disappointed. house tokyo soup is delicious. the onion petals (tempura style) is so filling & has a delightful crunchy texture with the very rich spicy mayo sauce on the side. it is enough for several people as an appetizer. i always get a cast iron pot of jasmine green tea. often also get a side salad (squid or octopus or seaweed). when appropriate to my schedule I enjoy a bottle of japanese beer which is very reasonably priced for an import. usually pay less than $20 for light lunch. today i noticed many nearby customers announcing that they really enjoyed their meal. my server was very very friendly & recognized me as a repeat patron. i...

The restaurant was so comfy and cozy. My husband and I and our 3 children went to meet up with friends for lunch. Our waitress was nice and polite. For the amount of food we had and considering the preparation of the food, our order came out promptly. The portion size was great! The price was fair for the service, amount of food, and the atmosphere.

The soup/salad was refreshing. The hibachi and sushi was AMAZING!! Definitely visit and I’m sure you’ll agree. We even had leftovers, I just wish we had not of forgotten it on the table!
