I’ve waited a couple of days to write this so I wouldn’t be writing out of anger. Sunday 9/17, went to the Herculaneum location to purchase a drag harrow, found it and the gentleman working in the farm looked up the price ($299) as the item wasn’t marked. Not knowing if three-hundred dollars was reasonable, I did a quick search on my phone for pricing comps, found that many stores (Rural King/Farmington being one) offered the same manufacturer/model for $100 less. The salesman suggested I go to the service desk for a price match, and this is where things went so wrong. The girl at the service desk, had no idea what a drag harrow was, so I showed her on my phone, the Rural King site. She informed me she needed to call Rural King to ensure the product was sold in stores, although the site I showed her clearly stated the harrow was offered “online and in-stores”, she phoned and spoke to a Rural King employee who told her they didn’t sell the item in stores. She informed me they couldn’t match the price because it wasn’t sold in stores, another employee walked up and felt the need to let me know that “people were always coming in and trying to pull scams with price matching”. I don’t have much, but I do have my integrity, and to have it questioned by someone who is supposed to practicing “customer service” was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Over the years I spent a lot of money at this Buchheit’s, but I won’t spend another. Leaving the store in a state of shock, I phoned Rural King in Farmington from the parking lot, spoke to the same person the customer service rep had. Who admitted, they didn’t know anything about harrows, didn’t know if they sold them in their store and couldn’t find any in the database (because she didn’t know how to spell it, so couldn’t look it up), and asked me to call back Monday to speak with the person who ran their implement department. I then called Orscheln in De Soto, they had the same harrow, it was $220, but it was going on sale next week, and they agreed to give me that price, so I paid $193 for the same harrow and they didn’t call me a cheat or scammer. So can you guess where I’ll be shopping from now on? You guessed it, anywhere but Buchheit’s in Herculaneum. As a side note, the duty manager at Buchheit’s was absolutely useless, he walked by on his way outside to smoke (I know this because he stood right outside the doors to do it) when he was finished his smoke, he walked by asked what going on, the scurried off without doing...
Read moreJust returned from this store. I will say that this location failed this customer in every way imaginable. This is regarding a health and safety issue that I observed for myself and tried to make the Customer service aware of (a baby mouse nest in plain view). The customer service was disrespectful, disregarding and dishonest.
Management was exactly the same.
Brief summery: Whole corn bags were chewed through, I observed live baby mice in the middle of a pallet. I tried to make one employee aware, the response was, "oh we know we have a mouse infestation," as she walked away. I asked a nearby employee if I could show her where they mouse nest was located, she was not actively doing anything. She said "yeah we know we have mice". I then said "well thanks for the help", her reply was a sarcastic, "no thank you!"
I asked her what her name was, she gave me a fake name. I then noticed her name tag, with her actual name! Her reply was, that she originally gave me her middle name.
Up by the counter I asked for the store manager to make a complaint. A man strolls out, my girlfriend asks if he's the store manager he replies he one of them. She then called him out on this lie as he was only a floor manager.
I still shared my experience with him, he was constantly looking away didn't seem interested in the least in fact it seemed like he was eager to get back up to his nest. No reassurance was given that this would be handled.
This is important When a customer tries to help with an issue they should not be treated as an enemy with such disregard and dishonesty.**
This is a store that sells food and drink, a mouse infestation is not something to balk at.
I am contacting Jefferson County Health Department as well as Tim Buchheit and any other member of corporate I have.
I have never experienced anything like this in any store I've ever been too...I'm simply amazed that this just happened.
I had been a customer for 7+ years and will never step foot in a Buchheit store again.
**Response to Katie: Thank you for addressing this, One of us will contact you tomorrow with any details you may need in helping this store.
We really did enjoy coming up for the last 7+ years. These were not just shopping trips for us. They were something we looked forward too (and mini-adventures for the 2 pups we brought into our family through Buchheits adoption events).
Again, I'm glad to hear this is being...
Read moreWe experienced top notch service from Jamie Brown and the team @ Buchheit Design Services on our recent kitchen update. We replaced our cabinets, counter-tops, sink, and plumbing fixtures. They even coordinated installation. My wife and I were were very pleased with the price and selection of materials, and the folks who completed our installation.
We selected their house brand (mid grade) cabinetry line. Although the quality, craftsmanship and features of the cabinetry (Carriage House) was on par with with the super-premium brands of cabinetry you would typically find at high end kitchen and bath stores; the price was less expensive than the 'budget' cabinets stocked at the well known 'big box' home improvement warehouses. We also chose the Carriage house line of Quartz for our counters and were equally as impressed.
Perhaps what impressed us most was the service we received before, during and even after the project. Jamie did a superior job helping us select materials, answering questions (even on her own time), and coordinating/managing the project from start to finish. We were never 'in the dark' and everyone showed up when Jamie said they would.
Thank you Mike Groppe with M&K Carpentry, and Sam and Jeremy with Carriage House for your attention to detail, quality work, and craftsmanship. We are beyond pleased with our kitchen and the end result was better than we could of ever imagined. We look forward to using Buchheit again when we update...
