I purchased two 36" base cabinets with pull out drawers for an island. I also purchased a top, sides, back and 12 pulls. I am not comfortable with wood I told the salesperson. I was told it's really easy and anybody can do this. Everything is pre dimpled for the pulls and all you have to do is seal the top as it is stained already. The sides and the cabinets have all the hardware you need and there is instructions on line for everything.
Well almost. I have to say I took advantage of a 50% off sale and I was happy with the price as quoted.
To do the deal with Cabinets to go is like a real estate transaction. You have to authentisign a few documents. One to purchase. One to pay for and one to pick up. The last one basically says you bought it, it's your problem now. You cannot return anything unless it is brand new in the box so if anything is wrong or damaged you have to call support.
The quality of the cabinets themselves is average. They are manufactured in Communist Vietnam. The wood is sourced there also and is of a lower grade quality. They would have went together well except for the fact that the screws only thread into the wood with 3 threads. I assembled them with a hand screwdriver and was stripping the wood out easily. After getting a little cheated I went and purchased the proper length screws and things went much better. I was told not to use glue putting the dove tails together for the drawers. I'd advise using a light application or they will become loose in the near future. The sides are not really sides but cabinet drawers that double for sides. I received one side that had a drilled relief for hinges and one that was not. They were the same part number. No instructions on how to attach them were supplied or found online either. The drawers did not have the clips that were in the instructions so that was a slight issue as I didn't use them instead of trying to obtain them. The drawer fronts are NOT dimpled for pulls. So off to Amazon for a template to make the holes for the pulls with a cold sweat while drilling the holes. The 4 top pulls were too big to fit the thinner draw faces so I had to find ones that fit. I had to modify the template to work also. The back was the thinnest piece of plywood I have ever seen with a vinyl grain pattern applied to it. The edges exploded as soon as my panel saw touched it. So buy a higher quality piece local and have them cut it. I did that and stained it myself also buying moulding for the cut edges.
The top. Well the top is terrible. It is made from hardwoods splices together. One side looks likes a shotgun target and the "good" side has wood filled defects that show through the stain. You must sand the good side in order to stain it. And sand you will in order to get a decent finish. There are spliced sections around the perimeter of the top which are obvious and stand out after staining. So unless you don't mind this, you'll need to paint the top. I was told the top came stained and just needed to be sealed. I found out later that was not the case.
The sales people at the store were very friendly, nice and accommodating and this is not a review of the store or its associates.
The price was good at 50% off but I would not have purchased these cabinets at full price. At full price you could source the wood. Buy a table saw and take a course in woodwork to build them yourself.
All these RTA cabinets are the same. The stores are the just a consumer interface for the warehouse. So they come from Vietnam then to the wholesale company then to the store and finally to you. That's Capitalism at its finest! Hate to say it but it's the best way to make a profit. Look out for the sales and save!

Read moreIf I could give zero I would. Multiple issues as detailed below, still no response from customer service. 10/6 purchased cabinets , signed docusign sent on 10/9. Told multiple times installed coukd fit us in the next few weeks. Had to follow up with Rod (who was fired) multiple times as we had still not received call from installer. After about a month of being told cabinets were on the next truck and we would get a call to set up white glove delivery, and multiple calls and emails inquiring , we were told that the purchase agreement was never sent so the cabinets were not ever on a truck ti be delivered. Got that fixed around 10/27, white glove delivery where we were told me so lift a finger came by himself so my husband had to leave work to come home and help. Installer showed up with his mom and gf to do the install…I mean I highly doubt they were trained on cabinets but we needed this done. Installed only worked 3-4 a day and then fraudulently and manipulatory submitted a completion document to be paid for a kitchen not completed. He called out the day he was supposed to come back to finish. Found out he was payed - red flag there. Asked he never come back to my house after pulling that shadiness and another installer had to come back out and essentially redo all the work. You can see how Unlevel the cabinets are and definitely not professional work. We likely could have done a better job ourselves. Not one person in customer service has called me to discuss. We had multiple quotes from other companies , we chose this one as the said the cover the cabinets and installation should anything happen. Why in the hell should I be expected to pay $2600 for this horrible experience of an install. Also the cabinets are cheap with multiple dinges already. Terrible experience, multiple days off work to be home and an insane amount of time and energy lost trying to co manage all the mistakes over two Months, not too mention not having a kitchen or sink with two young kids that whole time. Please find another place to get your cabinets. That installer is still employed and is 100% not skilled to...
Read moreThe short story of this review is we had to pay a 25% restock fee after CTG sold us a vanity that they knew would not fit. It was after 60 days, but never should have been sold. We bought a vanity and top . We assembled the vanity, one panel was cut incorrectly. When we called they said they would replace it, but we had to drive to Johnson City (3 hr. roundtrip) and pick up the new one. Our remodel was delayed and we didn’t place the top on after 60 days. We had inspected it for chips, etc. Our cabinet is two 24” cabinet with a 12” drawer between. The basins were off by about 3 to 4 inches. The basins rubbed the sides of the drawers. CTG’s suggestion was to cut the sides off the top door so the basins would fit. We asked for a new top that would fit or our money back for the top. After phone calls and e-mails the rep told us they would take the top back and charge a 25% restock fee. And we would need to bring it to their store. (Another 3 hr. round trip) I have one email where the rep said they sent the wrong top and another email that said they don’t carry a top that fits the cabinet. When I talked to the manager he said the rep that sold the cabinet and top was new. I reminded him he mentioned the rep was new and he handled the sale. I have never written a review, but experience was the worst ever! This does not merit 1 star. If it had been after the 60 days and our fault, I wouldn’t have a problem with the restock fee, but to sell something that they knew...
