UPDATE 10/16: They want me to resign documents AGAIN. They already did a bunch of hard inquiries to my credit score each time they do documents. I keep calling to figure this our no one calls back or they hangup on me. They say if I dont want to keep I would lose money on my sales tax and money I left for down payment is last I heard. Paperwork needs to be submitted to my bank by 10/19 or they would need to apply AGAIN. UPDATE: THEY WANT ME TO SIGN MORE PAPERS AND CHANGE THE DATE AGAIN. I WILL NOT SIGN ANYMORE PAPERS. Will update again after this situation. BUYERS BEWARE! I had a terrible experience with this dealership from the beginning until still. I found the Toyota Highlander that I wanted online and already got pre approved from my bank. I go there, test drive vehicle, everything went good. We go to do the paperwork and I tell them I already got pre approved I dont want them to run my credit through other lenders, just the bank I provided. Finance comes back out and tells me he can get me a better rate through their bank at 6.3%. I said how do you know that I told you not to run my credit except for through my bank to finalize everything. He lied and said that he didnât when I then got an alert on my phone through credit wise saying he did. That was the first thing that went wrong. I continued the deal and left that day after signing all paperwork needed. They gave me a 30 day temp tag until they registered (which told me I couldnât register the car myself when I asked). During this 30 days my TPS sensors came on and said visit dealer, which I did and they just cleared code and the light came right back on and is still on along with a seatbelt sensor now. The 30 day temp tag was running out so I called and let them know and my salesman Josue said he reached out the the DMV and was waiting on an email which I later found out he never emailed. Also no one would return any of my calls. Now it is the day before my temp tag is running out and I had to be the one to call yet again and they told me âwe will get you the plates today we just need you to sign new paperworkâ. âLucky for you its like Christmas you dont have to pay this monthâ. I say why would I have to sign new paperwork I want to make my payment and Im not signing new paperwork and asked them why they would need me to change dates with them. I refuse to sign new papers and call dealers commission to see if that seems right and they say absolutely not and that it was sketchy (which I have on recorded line). They told me again they can have my reg today I just forgot one signature that I needed to come in and sign. I go there with my old paperwork and compare with the new paperwork they want me to sign and I told them to show me where I forgot to sign and there was not a signature missing, the only difference was the date was changed. I asked if they even had the title to the car and they pulled it out and had me sign it. So I am guessing that they listed and sold me the car without having the title in hand for me to sign and didnt do the paperwork because the bank cant give a loan without receiving paperwork first. They still never told me but that is what I am gathering. They finally get my plates and send a guy to me to put them on and told me he could not get the front plate on because they didnt have anymore ânailsâ. When i brought my car for TPS to dealer I told them to put the front plate on for me and they used a screw the wrong size which one of them fell off and other was hanging on by a quarter turn. I am still having light problems on my car and they are unresponsive and terrible at communication. They all avoid my questions and everyone was extremely shady. I would recommend staying far away from them. ALSO at the beginning I mentioned the fees in the paperwork and I said there are no hidden fees on here right because I saw this dealership on the news for illegal fees. My salesman said âNo that was not Grieco, that was Tarboxâ which I looked up later on again and it was in fact Grieco Johnston. I would recommend...
Read moreDeeply Disappointed with My Honda Lease ExperienceâŠ
This has been one of the most frustrating car decisions Iâve ever made, and I feel compelled to share my experience to help others avoid the same issues.
I went into the dealership intending to lease a Honda Accord, but my salesperson convinced me to switch to the Honda Prologue, an EV, based on what I now realize was inaccurate and misleading information. I was repeatedly reassured that the car would fit my lifestyle, but this could not be further from the truth.
Charging Time Misrepresented: I was told that charging the car on a Level 2 charger would take 30â45 minutes. In reality, it takes over an hour, which is significantly longer than I was prepared for, especially given my concerns about time constraints. Portable Charger Issues: I made it very clear to the salesperson that I live in lofts with no dedicated charging space, so a portable charger was a critical factor in my decision. After asking countless questions and trusting the answers provided, I realized only after driving the car that the portable charger is not practical for my living situation. This major oversight on their part left me with no feasible way to charge the car conveniently. Inaccurate Range Estimates: The miles displayed on the dashboard do not align with the actual distance driven. For example, a 10-mile trip often reduces the range by nearly double, even with one-pedal braking enabled.
Within two days of leasing the car, I contacted the salesperson to express my dissatisfaction and request an exchange for a vehicle that better meets my needs. I was told this was impossible since the car was no longer considered ânew,â despite only having it for the weekend.
This experience has left me stuck with a car that is more of a burden than a convenience. Leasing a car is supposed to bring peace of mind, not constant frustration.
I am incredibly disappointed, not just with the vehicle but with the lack of transparency and unwillingness to resolve the issue. As someone who has never walked away from a dealership dissatisfied until now, I can confidently say I would not lease another Honda based on this experience.
If I could give ZERO stars, I WOULD.
If you're considering the Honda Prologue, think twiceâand choose a dealership that prioritizes honesty and customer satisfaction.
UPDATE!!
I went in yesterday (12/04) to readdress the issues I was facing. I spoke to sales manager Ricardo and he stated that he would unwind the deal and get me into a Honda accord. He consistently reassured me that everything would be all set. He called me after I left to reiterate that everything will be fine and I can have peace of mind. He then call me again today (12/05) to let me know that everything will be all set for me to come in and asked for additional paperwork for me to send prior to my arrival, in which I had sent over.
After arriving, Ricardo had gone home for the day. The GM Daniel Crivello came to speak to me (with my printed out original review) and tried to offer me $750 of credit for charging. He also stated that my car spelled like cigarettes (I donât even smoke so this statement was wild to me). He then goes on to say that if he took the car back heâd be losing thousands (when they make millions). I told him I needed a moment because I was so upset and distraught that they were not following through on their word and was again being dishonest and misleading. When I came back in, he refused to come back and speak with me. I ended up leaving, having to write a review with the BBB, and attempted to call corporate, however, their phone was down. I will be calling again tomorrow to file a formal...
Read moreI am 77 years old and a Vietnam Era Veteran, I had a 2002 Ford F-150 pickup truck that I used in my business until I retired and still drove it after that until it got to a point where it just wasn't feasible to repair it anymore so I scrapped it, since I am retired I don't really drive that much anymore and I used Lyft services and my wife's car to occasionally get here and there. But my wife works part time and needs the car about 4 days a week. Then I decided I wanted to get myself another vehicle, not necessarily a new one but a recent late model, but then the ordeal of deciding what I wanted to get started. Did I want a small car a big car a truck, and SUV and if an SUV which one? Since I am a veteran I use the VA Health Care Center in Providence and I am provided Lyft services to and from the hospital for checkups and what have you.
During my car search time I happened to have an appointment at the VA and when I called Lyft services to schedule a ride they sent over a beautiful Honda Pilot which I rode in and was very impressed with, and as luck would have it, when I was through with my appointment and called for another ride, Lyft sent ANOTHER Honda Pilot to take me home and I was very impressed with that vehicle as well. I searched for Honda Pilot vehicles online and came across a beautiful looking 2020 EX model, it was burgundy, loaded with a lot of features, had very low mileage, and was very reasonably priced. It was for sale at Grieco Honda on Hartford avenue in Johnston. As a lot of people , are I was a little hesitant about going into a car dealership having heard stories about various bad experiences some people have had with some. When I went into Grieco Honda I was introduced to a young man named Chris Matarese who was a very pleasant individual. He brought the vehicle around for us to go for a test drive, was extremely polite, very intelligent and exceptionally knowledgeable about the vehicle, answering all of my questions in an instant. After a brief time of asking my "20 questions" about the vehicle and financing I decided to buy the 2020 Honda Pilot. Since the vehicle had just been taken in trade it had not been inspected by the service department as yet, and Chris had the vehicle taken in immediately to have it inspected, the service manager noted that the driver side sun visor was not functioning properly and hung a little bit low having apparently been sprung over time, and it was decided that Grieco would put a new visor in for me which I thought was a very nice gesture. So to end this story, I've had the vehicle now for a little over 2 months and I cannot be happier with it and also with the excellent and outstanding service and courtesy which was extended to me by Chris Matarese, you will find him exceptionally honest, devoutly professional, and eager to earn your business. The services provided by Grieco Honda including sales, financing, and the service department were all excellent in quality, if you're looking for a vehicle go to Grieco Honda on Hartford Avenue in Johnston and ask for Chris you will not be disappointed I can assure you. ...
